those who went to the medieval fair (or to sant josep yesterday for the sant isidre celebrations) will remember a guy with a stand promoting another new hierbas ibicencas: fluxa. btw, the same guy has also created a cafe caleta liquor (!)......

as a direct consequence of what happened to mari mayans, we will see other new ones in the market very soon ! !

surprising rumour of the week: apparently mari mayans has gone bankrupt!! :?
the rumour seems to be true..... it havent been run by the mari mayans family for a long while and its in hands of a guy from murcia (!), who brought it to the ruin!! :(
after a long legal battle and a change of name (now they're called familia mari mayans), since some months ago the company is run by the MM family again!! :p

their factory in puig den valls continues shut down (they had to move to montecristo) and legally they still can't bottle the liquor so someone else do it for them in mainland!!

it's all a bit confusing.....

Sounds like maybe the company went bankrupt and they started a new company under this new name you mentioned above, but their old creditors are trying to legally block them from continuing to operate?

Picked up a bottle of this on our recent trip, he had a stand in the Es Cana Hippy Market. Apparently it is an old recipe of his mothers (duly next to him on the stand). Also selling salt (normal, with herbs, and last one was spicy I think), as well wine vinegars (I think), and the cafe caleta as you say.

Haven't tried the Hierbas yet, but my wife sampled it at the stall and thought it was good.

After being told about Hierbas, this is all I drink whilst on the island.

I don't know… it has a tingling, blurry, dreamy like sensation after you have a few glasses.

It's like experiencing Ibiza in a bottle.

Something very mystical about it. And it doesn't even taste like alcohol!

Question: how much is too much? After how many glasses do u get drunk? And is it a happy drunk feeling or more mellow?

I'm actually gutted I didn't gget to try this whilst out there, we tried to do as much of Ibiza as we could and that included mojito's but Hierbas entirely passed us by until we got back and came across stories of it by chance.

Is there anywhere you can buy it in the UK, or get it delivered? Fancy trying it.

Yes, me! You have to pay me lots of money though!

The last two trips out to Ibiza have brought bottles back (along with All i Oli and sausages)

Really do like the drink, and its nice being able to order this along with the bill in Spanish at the end of a meal!

Is there any online stores that sell Hierbas Ibicencas? Preferably the Mari mayans one.

I can't seem to find any online retailers.
