:) , I'll be leaving for Ibiza for the 13th time tonight, but strangely, I'm just not up for it as usual. Maybe it's my age, 32 now, so maybe I have hit some sort of Ibiza wall, even my trusty Kiss Clublife 99 cd hasn't done it for me.

Maybe I'll feel differently when I'm there, but as of this moment I can see myself with a mug of Spanish Horlicks and in bed before 2am. Bought myself a lot of new camera accessories, so may just look at it as more of a cultural/photography holiday with rest and relaxation in mind. Getting old.

Jeeeeeeeeeez. Man up!

I'd LOVE to be going to Ibiza tonight!!!

Avoid your usual haunts, look for places you've never been to before, make the effort to speak to loads of people, stop being a big drip and make the most of it!

Sorry... am I stating the obvious?

yeah you're right. I'll be seeing mates over there, socialising etc, just I'm going to make more of an effort this year to get to some of the more hidden places/treasures on the Island. Ashamed to say I haven't seen much of it in the 13 years, just San An mainly, so wondering if the travelling around and walking is going to knacker me for the evenings.

Having said all that mind, I'll prob be in a few West End bars from 11am getting pissed.:)

Can you drive? Don't get so smashed and hire a car to do some exploring. If you've spent 13 years hanging out in San An, I think you have identified the problem. Don't get me wrong, I think San An is fine in moderation, but get out your comfort zone and spend this year doing new things.

And if you are worried about being knackered in the evenings, invest in some proplus at the airport before you leave. Or spend your evenings exploring? Start late, go out later? Man, you need to snap out of it. Grab it by the balls and make sure you make the most of it.

no, don't drive, I'll be getting buses or boats around the Island. You're prob correct about San An, it's just my mates are workers and if I want to see them it's probably better off me being there. I wonder if it's just the travelling I'm tired of, I've never had a flight in 'normal' hours, I have to wake up at 2am to be at the airport tonight, not much fun after a long days work.

Firstly, saying you're getting old at 32 is a bunch of unimaginable bullsh1t

Secondly, have you ever read one of my reviews? 8) You can explore and see the island AND party every night. It's really not that hard. Just takes motivation (although a missus who insists on visiting various beaches during the day helps )

This post is likely too late to help you... but you're going to the best little island on the planet. Get your head in order!

Holy moly, 32. You have a good ten years left!!

I reckon once you are exploring the island by bus, boat or whatever mode of transport you can, it will really open your eyes to the real beauty of the island. There is a good chance you will come back and write about it being your best Ibiza holiday ever.

enjoy.

Hmmmm. 32 is not old. You are officially old when you have pictures of your grandchildren in your wallet or something similar. I'm 32 and I don't feel old. But then again, I don't feel young either.

well, I´m off to a good start. Going to the local San Antonio Tomato fight later, should be a laugh and more importantly get some cracking photos, then onto Faithless at Privilege. Life in the old dog yet. Should have stated I´ve been on an extremely restrictive diet for 6 months, which is why I´m so tired all the time.

Es Vedra tomorrow, and I would advise people to take the bus from the airport to San An. Nice journey, cheap at 3.25 euros and the bus was empty, surprisingly.

really enjoyed that tomato fight. I followed the Romans around San An and onto the beach, and, it was great fun up until someone threw one full pelt at my face lol, my fault for standing at the front taking pics. Spent the best part of half an hour cleaning tomato off my new camera, and trying to get the swelling down on my cheek.:) That was Day 1 for me, highlight so far. Been on a cruise to Es Vedra, and the bus to Eivissa...next up, Ses Salines.

Big personal shock also, turns out I loosely know one of those arrested during the drug bust, been told he´s doing 8 years but can´t find any info to clarify.

A good read is this thread, keep up with the postings, I'm sure your adventures will provide some inspiration for others looking to explore beyond the west end bars.:lol::lol::lol:

re: the bust. There was an article in the Daily Mirror (online) which portrayed the gang as some kind of under world mafia outfit, but no names were given.

i'm 31 and heading to the closing parties this year for the first time and in no way do i feel old.... in-fact i'll probably be one of the last ones standing... :D

young pups i am 47 and if i get a free ticket for a club when i am out.you cannot stop me.mainly stick to space.not far to me to walk back to hotel and mainly some people i know get me a ticket or pass.

you won't cos he ain't. they haven't even been to trial yet.

that´ll be why then. Seen a pic of him being carted away in a local paper, tried to hide his face but clearly him. I´m assuming the sentence won´t be light though.

the group that were busted last year haven't even been to trial yet!

glad to hear you're enjoying your trip so far Hywel, I turned 30 this year and have to say it did make me wonder how old i'll be when I decide that Ibiza is no longer on the list of places to go on holiday!

why should being older make any difference? around 30% of ibiza's visitors each year are over 45 - that's about 600,000 people, and pretty much the same percentage as menorca, though mallorca tends to attract a more 'mature' clientele.
