Heartbroken

Sorry to hear that, but good that it was peaceful.
Stay strong, and god bless. You're a star and I'm sure your friend will be looking out for you from above.

Just an update: My friend passed away peacefully today at 1pm. As a colleague of mine put it- "He's gone to play with the angels in a place where he won't have need for his wheelchair- he'll be able to run, jump and dance with the best of them." God bless him. My bottle of single malt is going to take a battering tonight.

Thanks for the update Paddy, I was wondering since you posted at the wkend but didn't want to ask. He's been a lucky man to have you in his life all these years and you should take some some comfort in what you've given to him and visa versa.

Definitely cane that malt tonight, you deserve it after the wk you've had. I won't ask how you are cos I know words won't begin to do it justice but just get thru the next few days/wks as best you can and as much of a cliche as it is, time is a great healer, take care xx

Paddy my thoughts are with you (esp. as its my dear Aunts service & cremation tomorrow).

Its awful to see someone close to your heart slowly deteriorate infront of you, all you can do is make the time more enjoyable for them.

Make sure you have a damn good cry  , I think thats the safest way to ease some of that awful pain you have inside.

God bless.

it amazes me that people do jobs like this, not in respect of why on earth do they do it, but in awe of the way a person can put themselves in a career which brings them face to face with one of lifes hardest experiences.

professionally and personally you should be proud that you have seen this thing through, celebrate you achievment and your friends life.

You should be so proud of the difference you made to that young mans life. If it wasnt for you he wouldnt have known love. Thats the biggest gift you could have given him. Not many people can say they made a difference but YOU did. Be proud of yourself
