Any cereal diets?

You know, the ones where you eat a bowl for breakfast and for lunch and then eat a normal meal on the night?

Yup - my mate Dave did the Special K one - he lost 7lbs in 2 weeks - but he was almost retching during the second week - he was so sick of the sight/taste of it....

Instead of that do a bowl of cereal for breakie (non processed) and a big bowl of salad (maybe with chicken) (with low fat dressing) for lunch then a normal dinner. Much nicer in these warm summer months :D

If I ever done a cereal diet I'd probably choose Coco Pops or something which kind of defeats the object lol

I definitely couldn't keep that up plus I'd just feel hungry the whole time.

Far better to just eat loads of fruit and veg instead.

Nope, cant eat cereal, gives me indigestion :(

Have just started the cabbage soup diet, which is very hard, but I'm on day 3 so only a few days left :P

To be honest it's not the breakfast/lunch that makes the difference (unless you always have really unhealthy stuff for both) it's all the snacks people eat in between...

I tend to snack on raw mushrooms, or carrots at the moment, which keeps me going in between meals

Here here!
If you change all the crisps and choocolates you eat in between for a piece of fruit you'll notice a big change :D

Starving yourself is not the answer (anyway Leese - you look incredibly slim and toned). Plus you will be depriving your body of essential vitamins and nutrients if you just stick to one food.

I know its hard but cut out alcohol for a bit, especially wine ;)

I know, it has loads of carbs in it.

Vodka & Diet coke has none but much cheaper to buy a bottle of wine.

I dont drink that much though, i dont drink during the week and only when im out at weekends. If i dont go out that weekend then i wont have a drink :?

Thank you Clara ;) I havent been starving myself, I'm just doing this diet for the 1 week, just to lose those extra few pounds that seem to have crept up. Have been eating the soup, plus lots of fruit and veg, and had a huge baked potato last night, and stir fry veg for lunch, I also take my vitamins religiously so shouldn't be depriving the body too much. Back to normal eating habits on Monday :P

moderation, excercise, fresh fruit and veg, fresh fish, lean white meat, steam, grill, poach, bake.

remember the above and you'll be fine.

at the end of the day its common sense.

buy a yrself a recipe book.

have you tried monkfish? soft tender juicy white fish, is lovely just steamed with some sliced fresh ginger and spring onions with a sprinking of crushed black pepper and a pinch of sea salt.

try serving it with steamed baby potatos, baby asparagas and baby carrots.
