It`s that smallish club in San An Bay, used to hold "Vive La Trance" night. Is that night on again this year? What other nights are held there?

I attempted to go to the opening night of V Trance last June but I was the only person around at the bar right next door and the place did not even open.

The message was that they were going to put back the opening a week or two but I'm pretty sure the night never happened at all during the whole season.

Noooooooo. I'm sorry this had just brought some scary memories flooding back. I was approached by the 'promoter' (some 20 yr old kid) for Vive La Trance last year to run some parties in conjunction with him at Summum last year. I declined as the guy didn't have a clue what he was doing. I was meant to be DJing at the pre-Ibiza party in London April last year. The guy hired the Rocket complex in London which holds about 3,000 people. He hired Alex P and Brandon Block to headline and only 50 people turned up. He lost thousands!! Needless to say Viva La Trance was a flop and the promoter did a runner owing companies thousands.

Summum also used to hold twice as nice or cookies and cream - some garage night anyway.

From Spotlight Club news last summer:

Viva La Trance @ Summum

It might be a bit smaller than the 'big 7', but Club Summum in the Bay of San Antonio really packs a punch.

Fantastic decor (from the designers of Es Paradis), top DJs, a real variety of musical styles and very, very affordable - add to that the fact that it's one of the first to open and last to close!

Vive La Trance opens on Thursday 12th June and runs until 18th September, with DJ's on rotation all summer which will include Sarah G & Miss Behavin, Tristan Ingram, DJ Freestyler and other guests. Music will be Trance / Hard House / Hard Trance.

Published 23rd May, 2003.

Was the kid called Tristan perchance?

Dive hole

If you go to Ibiza and go here then you need help!
Slightly worse than Nightlife - once, but never again!

No his DJ name was Freestyler but I can't remember his real name - Gary something I think. check out his web page on harder faster. http://www.harderfaster.net/text/djs/4660825

I think he's disappeared off the face of the earth.

Guessed it had to be one of the unknowns on that list - just went for the poshest name who might be wasting Daddy's money!

I feel sorry for the bloke. "It's gonna be a great summer!" and then died on his arse before staging one event.

He was just very naiive at the end of the day. You have to ask yourself if it was that easy to promote in Ibiza then why did the likes of Gatecrasher, Renaissance etc fail over there? If they can't cut it then there's not much hope for a 20yr old upstart who's never promoted before.

That's why I feel sorry for him. You can just imagine he laying out loads to hire a 'top Ibiza' club only to find the only punters who'll go there getting in for free at 9-10 o'clock as the last part of an 18-30s sunset booze cruise....

That's right. He hired some Ibiza Hospitality to take care of all the flyers, PR's, club, accommodation etc and he laid out thousands which he'd borrowed from the bank.

I presume he secured the loan against a property inherited recently and told the bank it was for home improvements. What bank would of lent him money if he told the truth?

You must be right. No bank in their right mind would otherwise.
