Hand Luggage on Flights

Cheers, so theres no limit on makeup ie I can take foundation, bronzer, different eyeshadows, mascara, a few lipsticks/glosses, eyeliner.......the limit is only on shampoos and stuff and they have to be in 100ml bottles?

My main luggage is going to be my hand luggage.

Yes no limit on makeup...
Just on the shampoo and stuff, you could just buy all your toiletries in Ibiza (If it is going to cause to much of a problem) thats what I did with my shampoo, conditioner and bubble bath
 
I know Im a bit late with this reply but here goes….I flew last week and I was only going for 3 days and had a small enough bag to take on the plane but had to check it in as I didn’t want to phaff about with buying products the other side and then leaving them in London…..big pain in the arse……I kept my make-up in my hand lugguage and they give you a plastic bag….two if you are an ugly trollop like me and need a lot of make-up! Don’t forget to put your perfume in your case….they confiscated mine as even though it was half empty….it was originally a 300ml bottle….scallies.:evil:

With regards to one-piece of hand luggage…I always carry a small bag and my laptop….anyway, some bint at Christmas on the Easyjet desk informed me that I could only take the laptop….flippin ridiculous considering I had travelled a couple of weeks before like that no problem….I just wish they would be consistent with the rules!:evil:

I know they have to be safety conscience but it is a bloody pain if you are only traveling for a few days….therefore wanting to skip the check-in queue and waiting on the belt!:roll: :roll:
 
Online check in unless you're not carrying any toiletries which 9 times out of 10 you will be (unless it's a day trip) is a waste of time as you've to check you're bag in, even if you've say less than 100ml in a bottle of aftershave or deodorant it doesn't matter they still make you check you're bag in, a load of bull*hit is what this rule is, i used to always just carry my bag onto the flight with me unless i was going for longer than a weekend now ive to check it in and wait for my bag:?
 
My next big trip is to Boston for Easter :D maybe Morbyd or someone else could answer me this, ive not been to USA since 2001 before 9/11 and all the stringent security checks,etc, just wondering what to expect when i arrive @ Logan Intl Airport, will i have to show details where im staying,etc, are there massive queues @ Immigration or isn't it too bad?
 
When I flew home for Christmas, the security checks weren't really any more stringent than what you find in the UK.

At immigration, they ask even fewer questions than at Heathrow. You have to fill out a landing card (per person) and a customs form (per family) but they're pretty standard forms of this type. They do take your fingerprint (no ink, of course, just an electronic sensor).

Expect the usual (shoes and belts off at security check, 100ml of liquids, etc) upon exit.

I lived in Boston for 6 years. Great town... I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun :D Are you staying down in South Boston (or as the Irish folk say, Southy)? :p

Cheers..ive heard all good reports about Boston so am looking forward to it, dunno where im staying as of yet stil looking at hotels.8)

They used to allow you to carry a laptop separate from hand luggage. What I do now is put the laptop inside a normal backpack and there is room for more in the backpack as long as it fits their dimensions. ;)

I've carried my laptop, small MIDI mixer, MIDI convertor box and associated wires as hand luggage the last few times I've been to Ibiza. I got a long knowing stare from the guy on the x-ray machine last June when leaving Ibiza, I just smiled back. :D
 
with hand luggage on every flight i've been on it the last year or so, you can take allsorts of bags on, like a few.

just depending on who you fly with, don't necessarily announce it to the world and then just take it on.

to barcelona last month with klm, a women had a large pull along trolley case thing, a large holdall, a large handbag and a a couple of bags of shopping. no questions asked anywhere as long as she wasn't breaking the liquid rules.

Doesn't depend on the airline, but on the airport.

The airlines generally don't care if you've got a couple of carry-ons as long as they're not huge.

However, the security checkpoint at Heathrow is where, on our recent trip, they made my wife stuff one bag inside the other, insisting on a one-bag rule.

Well thanks to Barbie I have found out that Iberia put your bags on your next flight for you, so no waiting at conveyor belts until we get to Ibiza.

I am wary of this incase they put my bag on the wrong flight 8O as some mates didnt get there luggage last year!!

How has everyone else found Iberia?

We had a good experience with them last year. Good flight times and website special prices on par with the budget carriers' fares. We only flew them Barca-Ibiza though, so I don't know how they are about transferring luggage.

In general, if you're changing airplanes mid-trip but flying on the same airline, most of the time you can check your luggage all the way to your final destination no problem. As long as there is at least an hour between flights, you should be ok.

Cool, thank you :D we flew with them from Barcelona to Ibiza in December and I thought they were great, really comfy seats :D but havent done more than one flight with them before. I guess theres only one way to find out how they are!!! 8O we have 2hrs wait in Heathrow and 4hrs in Barcelona :)
