Hair Dilemma!

Yet another hair dilemma from me

I got my hair done this weekend, I asked for all over highlights, hoping to go back to blonde. I told my hairdresser I didnt want to go too light, i.e I didnt want to go white blonde or anything, to which she agreed.
Anyway when it was all done, it still looked a bit dark, I left the shop and when I got home, it looked even darker than what it did in the shop (being in natural light and everything). Some people havent even noticed I've had my hair done :?

Now I'm thinking, should I call and ask to go back? I dont want to have to pay again, the hair cut total cost me £100, but surely if I'm not 100% happy with it, it's a lot of money to pay for something you're not happy with? 8O

I'm one of those people who doesn't like to cause a fuss, but then again I dont like paying £100 for a hairdo I'm not happy with :(

Go back!

It's beyond me how you laydeees spend that money on hair anyway, so it should be right shouldnt it!

Stuie... hairdresses charge more to us. I used to have very short hair and I go to same hairdresser than Pep and I got charged around 20€ more just cos i'm a laideeeee :?

The only solution

Go back at once Bec!
Pick up the phone now!...They're a business remember, not a friend so don't get too emotionally involved. ;)

If you're not happy with what the hairdresser has done most reputable hairdressers will fix it free of charge.

The only thing that might go against you is that she might say 'well this is the colour you asked for' cos colours can be very subjective. And also if you're going to complain do it asap, if you had it done on Saturday and now it's Wednesday she might think you're just trying to scam a free hair do.

Well I just rang, and a guy picked up, who wasnt very helpful 8O I told him my situation, and he said basically leave it til Friday, when my hairdresser is next in. He said it depends on whether she used a tint or bleach :? i.e it could go lighter over time.

I might just leave it, no point going back a week after is there

I'd say definately if the guy said to call back on Friday!!!

You can't help what they tell you to do after all and it may lead to exactly that - a free top up hairdo!

£100 is £100!

You can't let this one go or Robder will get cross. ;)

Go you silly missy ;) You certainly won't be the first person to complain about a hair do and you won't be the last, what's the worse that can happen the hairdresser tries to get her revenge and you end up with green hair  ;)

Tbh it's bad for their reputation if they don't rectify it.

The way I see it as this.

I have a good relationship with my hairdresser, and , considering I have a lot of work (for a guy!) done on it, I'm quite a valued customer to them.

The flipside of this, is that I pay perhaps over the odds.

But, if I'm ever not 100% happy with it (as its hard to judge a hairdo in the salon) I ALWAYS go back. (I go back anyway to give them praise or whatrever anyway)

I look at it from this simple summary.

I pay too much for my hair cut not to be 100% satisfied with it. Say you have a haircut once, every 6-8 weeks, your account to the salon is annualy worth £750 quid. It's in their interests to keep you.

I feel it's a psychological thing. YOU are in control! The Salon needs YOU!

This approach may not be as appropriate in larger chains of salons, but the principle should remain.

yes yes yes!!! I'm getting right into this!

I'm chanting to myself in my head "THEY NEED ME, THEY WANT ME!" lol

Yeah I'll give her a call. TBH this is the first dodgy hair do I've had off this girl, normally she does it perfect. I think maybe because I said to her I didn't want it too blonde she thought maybe I didnt want it much lighter, but I do! She's Italian so maybe she mis-understood what I was trying to get at :?

Which would still be her problem rather than yours.

I'm glad we're back on this. When you sorted your hair and which car to get I felt we'd peaked on (Spotlight) community achievements. Now we've got something to aim at again

Just wait til I need another job

Seriously though, there's a plethora of experienced people on Spotlight, of all different ages, backgrounds etc. If you can't get a diverse opinion on here where can you get it :?: 8)

I love asking questions like this on forums too!

Becki, go back. It's a lot of money and you should be happy with it, although they may ask why you didn't mention it at the time or the following day.

Is the same hairdresser you always go to? In which case, they will want you to be happy incase they lose your custom. If it's not, then it doesn't matter what they think.

It's so annoying how much hairdressers charge.
