“Beaten for absolutely no reason”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

My friends and I are American and went here for the Avicii concert. The place looked great. I was in there for less than 15 minutes before me and another friend were kicked out and beaten by the venue's security. Now let me rewind a bit. We are very well behaved young adults. I have never been involved in any kind of physical altercation before. Long story short there was a misunderstanding with one of the female bartenders. She thought my friend, who is a girl, took a Sprite without purchasing it and was very upset about it. I paid for it and had the receipt and showed her but she was still upset. She called another bartender, also female, to come over and they were both highly upset. They called security and were both screaming saying we stole the Sprite and I said it was ridiculous, we would never steal a soda, and showed him the receipt. Since it was madness with the two ladies, he called a bouncer over and he had no tolerance for what was going in. He did not want to hear our story and immediately said my friend had to leave, since she was the one that "stole" the Sprite. I said no, she can't go alone, I'll go out as well. But my friend was really upset and did not want to leave because they were so unfair so she was being resistive and holding her feet to the ground. The bouncer then had to pick her up and take her out. I followed behind, willingly. As soon as we crossed the exit rope, the bouncer threw my friend (keep in mind she is a girl) down against a brick wall and started to kick her while she was on the ground. I immediately reached down to pick her up, but before I could do so, I was pushed back and punched in the face twice. I blacked out for the next 15 seconds, and when I regained consciousness I saw my friend face down about 5 yards away. I tasted blood. I could feel the blood dripping down my face. We got up and since the concert had not even started, there were a lot of people in line and everyone witnessed this happen. Many people came up to us to see if we were alright. It was a complete nightmare. These "employees" are actually filthy disgusting animals, not even deserved to be called humans. No human would ever do this to anyone for absolutely no reason, especially a girl. I will go back to Ibiza, but NEVER to Ushuaia. Now it has been five days since the incident and I have suffered a concussion and NOTHING has been done about this abuse. I hope this never happens again and I hope the bastards that did this will pay for it. And if you are a manager reading this, it happened on July 21, 2013.

So all those witnesses but I bet no-one let it spoil their own party. Stories like this are nothing new where Ushuaia security is concerned - but it's been a while since any hit the public reviews. Alleging theft of a lemonade is a great excuse for a free-for-all isn't it ?

I wonder if the relevant 'security' passed their "Bouncer licence" thing. There is no excuse for punching and kicking people whatever the circumstances and no excuse for any violence once people have left the premises. If they can't restrain people using reasonable methods then they need to be removed from their jobs. End of... and if they assault people off their premises in front of witnesses once they had been ejected then the police should have been called in there & then by the author of that piece. Wonder why they didn't ? (hmmm ....)

Ushuaia Late Arrival!

I am planning to go to the Avicii closing party on the 1st Sept but unfortunately our flight doesn't arrive in until 18:40! It says on the website that the gig starts in Ushuaia at 5pm so does anyone know if we'd A) still be able to get in at about 8pm? And B) would we miss all the main acts?? In th UK acts always start waaay later than scheduled so kinda hoping it will be the same in Ibiza! Thanks in advance guys!

You'd be fine. Main act is normally 10/10.30 I think (event closes at 12) so as long as you are happy with the risk of airport transfer / delays etc!

Ahh amazing! It will take a while to get to and from San An but should be ok! Du think there would be anywhere to store a suitcase if we have to come straight from the airport??
