Ibiza Finds Space for Electroclash

Punx Soundcheck/ Droyds producer John Taylor will be DJing at Ibiza
superclub Space's opening party this May, John told Skrufff this week,
kicking off what he expects will be an electro packed season on the
island.

"Everyone knows the score about the opening of Space, it's most DJ's
dream gig and I've been booked to play electro on the main floor, which
is great for me and great for electro too," he said.

"Electroclash is definitely going to break through this year, it's
taking over from house," he predicted.

sounds good, but i think the above statement is a bit optismistic.
 
i remember when garage was gonna replace house music on the island, and last year when hippy hoppy was gonna be challenging the house scene.
 
lol yeah! i remember pure silk saying they were the first to take garage to the island... They didnt mention they were the last too!

People need to understand that house music is here to stay... FOR GOOD! :D

Some electroclash on the island can be good at times though.
 
Electroclash doesn't really exist, but some good electro nights on the island wouldn't go amiss.
 
No idea what Electrowatsit is .. but I think people are wanting a bit more than soul at the mo .... think it may go a bit more "electro" ... Kraftwerky ...

By the way .. their new single ... I really think it sounds like a cross between .... Trans Europe Express and Grandmaster Flash`s .. White Lines ..
 
Electroclash is pretty much electro, perhaps a bit dancier, think Fischerspooner, though its really just a name made up by Music Journalists to help them pigeon-hole things
 
I love electro stuff. always have done really cos I loved 80's synth pop like soft cell, depeche mode and pet shop boys. "electroclash" is a logical extension of that tradition really.

It's already made an impact on more mainstream house music - think of things like Zombie Nation and Satisfaction, even Just F**k, and some of David Guetta's tunes.

I bought the Nag Nag Nag album at the weekend, which has some cracking electro tunes on it, particularly Hooked on Radiation by Atomizer.

I hope we do get to here more of it in Ibiza this year, although it was around in 2003 - Felix Da Housekat played Space, and Har Mar Superstar dropped a lot of electro shit in the backroom at manumission.
