Was Grandmaster Flash a no-show @ WLS @ Space July 4th? He was supposed to play from 11pm till midnight but I didn't see him at all. Unless he's going to the same skin doctor as Micheal Jackson these days. :?

Who dj'ed before Jose Padilla on the terras? Sin Plomo? He was great!

All in all it was a great party at Space! What an amazing atmosphere there is on the terras!

I agree Lawler threw it down to a lot of very beautiful party people that night. What a great atmosphere. I also failed to see grand master flash although i can admit i wasn't really looking for him.

grandmaster flash is playing in the small room above the inside room. he probably did play. you just didn't see him.

no i believe he was a no show. james zabiela played the small room from 11 to 1 and apparently ROCKED it - didn't stay for it unfortunately :-(

just out of curiosity, i wonder how space dealt with him on the phone... "Mr.Flash..." or simply "Grandmaster" lol

hopefully he did miss it. It may prompt we love to replace him with someone decent.

Decent? The man's a legend!

I think it's good that they're going for slightly different guests to just Steve Lawler every week.

Grandmaster Flash Space no-show cond...

Nico, I was at Space that night and Grandmaster Flash certainly didn't seem to be there (although Steve Lawler was doing a very good job of making up for it with a wicked Terrace set) - we were checking the new room upstairs and the main room downstairs frequently until about 1.30am. Shame, as me and my friends were really looking forward to hearing his set. By the way, what a FANTASTIC new upstairs room it is - loving the pod seating and the view straight down the airport landing strip -a room with a view indeed...

the new space room sounds class don't suposse anyone has any more info on it or even better a photo

Sure he's a pioneer and all that, but i'm really not into hip hop and that's where is was coming from with my statement.

was there that night, and yeah the atmosphere was top notch!

lawler was tearing up the terrace, everyone was jumping about and even Pete Tong came on down for a little visit on his day off!

Shame grandmaster flash couldnt make it, but ahh well, Digweed did a sterling job in the main room, played a damn hard set!

Fair enough, but he doesn't just play hip hop. In fact, I wouldn't even describe his sound as that.

I think it's only a good thing that clubs like Space are going for names you perhaps wouldn't expect to see that just monotonous "funky house" all the time.
