Grand National

aint read the form yet (like it matters for the national!).

initial instinct is to go for Hedgehunter... although if the ground dries im plumping for the 2003 winner Monty's Pass. (even though past winner's records have been shite, with exception of red rum).

ask me again on sat.

would you like to stroke my sideburns?

Hi Sandi

Tip(s) for you

Clan Royal is one of the favourites and finished 2nd last year...should go close as very fresh and still well weighted.

I also like Just in Debt which finished 2nd over one circuit of the national fences in 'The Beacher' earlier this year.

Key national facts:-

22 out of the last 25 winners carried less than 11st. (so its a fair bet you can rule out any horse carrying over 11st)

9 of the last 10 winners have been 9 or over

There are a few other facts on this great web site ---->

http://www.inside-edge-mag.co.uk/ 8)

Good luck!

my 3 to follow

1. clan royal 10/1
2. monty's pass 25/1
3. just in debt 25/1

i bear no responsibility

GOOD LUCK! 8)

If I lose I will hold you fully responsible

not very...

come on guys, the national is always a lottery.

ive based my picks on...

1. discounting anything over 40/1
2. last years winner.
3. the top weight.
4. any horse under 9 years of age.
5. any horse with an F (Fell) in its form over the last 5 races its run in.
6. My gut feeling.

you can only make a calculated guess. youve got no control on how the race is run, if you get a faller that brings yours down and Jam Mans Kitten sniper.

too true, not exact;y an 8 furlong dash is it??

"Just In Debt" has a ring to it, bearing in mind ive just mortgaged meself up to the tune of £190'000!! :(

me and my friends just find a field full of horses, snap thier necks and then shoot them in the head...

far much more fun and cheaper

I am tapping up a mate at spoting index for their tips, I'll get them up here later.

I'm going to have a spread on the number to fall at the first and the number finishing the race as well :? :P

All in a day on the farm eh?? ;)

The going is quite soft at the moment and more rain is forecast in Aintree tomorrow. If that happens then anyones got a chance!

I really wanted to go up again this year, but didn't get my arse in gear. shall defo go up next year though :P

Horseracing too Scoobs? Is there anything which you don't have significant amount of knowledge on :?: :P

Grand National is more like the lottery than a horse race

My dear departed Grandad used to bet on any race going but the National

Usually i pick a favourite (but not THE favourite) to win +
one at about 25-50 to 1 Each Way cos one of them usually wanders thru to the last 4
