port meadow in Oxford in the summer - almost anywhere in central Oxford really

loved brighton

I've not really been anywhere oop norrth really in recent years, so can't comment!

Lake Windermere and the surrounding area.

'twas just like being abroad when we went last September 8O

Lunan Bay (near Montrose)
Snowdonia
Aberfoyle
Loch Lomond
The Trossachs
Glencoe
Skye
Caernarfon's very nice too from what I remember.

Haven't been many places in England apart from big smoggy cities. Some of Norfolk is lovely though.

... was watching that 3 men and a boat with a dog thingy last night where they were travelling the route of Jerome K Jerome - and I thought to myself I would quite like to visit Oxford - some of the areas they paddled past looked gorgeous......

The Lake District is beautiful (when the weather is nice)

There is an Island on one of the lakes with a stately home on it which is for hire - I would love to hire it for a party sometime - I think it has 12 bedrooms so 24 peeps on an island with a sounds system for a long weekend :D

i LOVE oxford in the summer :D :D :D

can we include ireland please.........

the Galway coast where my roots lie is absolutely stunning.

a rugged and powerful natural part of the world.

Oh that sounds fabulous - its a date!!!

I have only done Pimms on the Lawn dont you know - never experienced drinking it in a boat - (I am a bit 8O when it comes to boats, however, as long as I can see the edges of land and I reckon I can swim it I should be ok) - can I wear a lifejacket or will that not go with the floaty dress, straw hat and my hand trailing delicately over the side of the boat into the river...

I even have a wicker picnic basket and a red and white check table cloth we can use too!!! :D :D :D :D

I really am not very good at all on boats - most of my family who have met premature deaths have been killed at sea, oil rigs etc.... and my mother used to put the fear of god into me as a kid swimming in the sea..... its inherent..... AND i cant open my eyes under water sea or fresh water in case any tiny tiny little fishes and possibly plankton nibble at my eye balls

How funny would it be if we got a gang of Spotlighters down for that - ladies in floaty dresses and straw hats, men in stripey blazers, white slacks and straw hats punting like mad up and down the river, whilst being a bit "silly" - actually how scary would that be for the residents of said area........8O
