Gran Canaria - anyone been?

I've been offered an almost free week in Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria in April so I'm for an early summer break. Anyone been before, and is there any decent clubs and bars which play nice house music at all, or am I going to be pulling my hair out and nutting apartment walls on a night?
 
ive been there, they have 2 pacha clubs, one in las palmas, which is better and one small in play del engles,....its a very touristy island,...like mallorca....the city of las palmas is nice....and they have nice weather all year round,...you cant compare it with ibiza...
 
went there when I was alot younger, so cant help with the clubs, I think where you're staying is the nicer side though. If its almost free, and its only for a week, it doesn't really matter if you just soak up the sun (will make a nice change from this weather), and chill for a week, and you've not got long to wait either 8)
 
i have been 7 times as a kid, remeber it to be crowded touristy, noisy and totally like tenerife where i went a few xmases ago. not liking it, its good for the sun and for relaxing.
 
I like it. Been to all the canary islands loads fo times and it's the best one. Lots to see and do and lots of good beaches 8)
 
Yeah I like it to, lots of nice beaches. Ideal holiday destination if you want to kick back and soak up the sun 8)
 
you should go to puerto morgan it's a pretty fishing town and not too far from puerto Rico. We went to Gran caneria last March it's not got the WOW factor but is great for a winter get-away. Have a nice hol 8)
 
oh, i remember puerto morgan,...lovley, but as sandi said, you dont have the wow factor, but from the waether its brilliant in winter....SPECIALLY THIS YEAR!! :evil:
