I done some investigating yesterday and sent an email to Jet Apartment owners to find out what is happening in regards to the bar, license, and music policy, I dont understand a couple of the words but you should get the general idea, I've also asked them to clarify the DJ situation, and music policy

Hi,

I am after some information, I am think about booking Jet aparments for 8 of my friends for 2 weeks in August, I need to know what is happening in regards to the bar which Jet aps own next door at Bora Bora, wether or not they have sorted out a license for the premises or it will be indoor music this year or what, any info would greatly be appreciated

Thank you very very much!!!!

"Dear Sir,
The Bora Bora will be open again in may with a new licence,
and wi doit musik out door and in door
Kind regars
Jet Apartments
Ormis verardi"

Yes. Hopefully it is good news. :D

Maybe it says:

"Dear Sir,
The Bora Bora will be open again in may with a new licence,
and with music out door and in door
Kind regars
Jet Apartments
Ormis verardi"

OR

"Dear Sir,
The Bora Bora will be open again in may with a new licence,
and doing music out door and in door
Kind regars
Jet Apartments
Ormis verardi"

or more like this

"Dear Sir,
The Bora Bora will be open again in may with a new licence,
and without music out door and in door
Kind regards
Jet Apartments
Ormis verardi"

Dear Potential Customer,

Yes there is a possibility, however faint, that the very reason you choose to patronise us with your custom may still exist. We suggest that continue to spend your cash with us on this basis for many years to come.

Etc...Etc

Yeah. I was thinking the same, but why the "new license" ?
is he just referring to a bar license, what do you think?

I doubt it would say music outside and music in, there are diff types of license, I was a bar licensee in Liverpool and although I dont know the setup in Ibiza, it will be based on size, security, safety, more or less the bigger it is the more money it costs to run.
The amount that Jet must have be making should by far weigh out just the possiblity of them just paying for a a shitty cafe license.

either way I've asked them to clarify and as soon as i know, I'll let you guys know si!

Licence applications can be rejected, its not all about the money.

Lets just hope then it isn't rejected!

Can you tell them that there is almost 200 signatures on the petition since it was started 3 days ago and that most people have added comments saying they would not go back to Ibiza as a result as it was such a fundamental part of their holiday.

Cheers :D

I'm sorry but I really do think these people are sad  (see what I said in earlier post about this). Bora Bora was great, end of, yay I like lots of other people would like to see it back in it's original form but if not I'm certainly not going to be crying about it cos my holiday revolves round more than a beach bar

Hear hear. Things change and move on, at least you've got the memories. It was good while it lasted, but nothing lasts for ever.

you're entitled to your opinion Barbie but other people's reasons for what makes a good holiday for them are just as valid. Not very fair to be calling them sad.

Perhaps its not just that Bora Bora is closed that is putting them off going but just that its part of the bigger picture with what's been happening to the island and the places they enjoyed going to.

:?

I have years of happy memories of down @ Bora Bora and they did make a good holiday but that's what they are memories, we were there in September the week after it closed down and I didn't feel the need to be in mourning and wearing a black armband wanting to catch the first flight home

I've been to Ibiza every year since 1996 and every year there are changes, people need to get their heads round that things change and evolve, often for the better. Who knows where people are going to go post-DC10 now on a Monday evening or when everyone's piled out of the Manumission Carry On, I for one am more excited about embracing new things rather than going over the same old same old ground.

having never been, id like to see it return just so i could experience the party, but im certainly not going to boycott ibiza just cause 1 bar doesnt have an outdoor music license. i do on the other hand completely disagree with the politics that seem to surround the nightlife in ibiza, its just plain wrong, but as im scottish and not spanish, i dont feel i have the right to tell the people in another country how to run their affairs, however much i disagree with how they do things. i did try and sign the petition but it doesnt seem to work, and to help your petition i forwarded it onto the petetong.com forums, dunno if you got any signatures from there though.

Apart from my cat and my rabbit, right GF? Right, huh? GF?

Of course Bucks, of course. Although there may come a time when they get very old when they might want to have a nice sleep, and although they look happy asleep they'll be getting very cold then so you might have to cover them up with some nice warm earth so they're all snug. But they'll still be there, just feeling very tired.
