good fridays/what's up vs. matinée - what do you suggest?

The audience was 90% male, and I talked with some nice gay people, but me and my girlfriend are not into parties with about three women in the middle of hundreds of men dancing to mediocre music.
Last year Matinee and the year before Matinee was ok, but that was then.

Matinée it's a gay promoter but since the begining it was very mixed and I never had the sensation to be alone with hundreds of men (Barcelona 6 years ago).
You didn't like the music? I only can say that I alwyas enjoyed the music.
I'm sure that if you use the search option you'll find lots of good reviews and comments about Matinée, even from people from this board who spent their NYD @ Mito Party By Matinée

I went to good fridays with some mates as one of their friends was playing, it was crap, full of pikey 18-30 types and the promoter messed the dj's around loads.

opens on 8am and at 8.30 the queue outside was almost absolutely full..
matinee. for me, the best music, gay scene of course, but a lot of girls also, when i was... best music, best parties, and a lot of great people.

Matinee is predominately gay. The music is basically house, funky house etc.
Good Fridays is on the terrace and the music is mainly breaks, tribal, electro, house.
What's up is inside Space and the music focus is tech-house and techno.
What's up/Good Friday's is a much better DJ line-up than matinee.

I thought Matinee last Saturday at Space was brilliant. Really good crowd (mainly Spanish) and great music (funky but tough with a bit of everything thrown in). Made a refreshing change from WLS. Just a shame it eneded at 5pm as we didn't get there till 2pm.
Good Fridays are already over( not really so good inside Whats up was quite ok, but on the terrace there was almost no one) and yes matinee is really great fun, one of the best parties for me this year, and true again 90% guys there, great atmosphere, the place is full, and so many things to see...
