As a lifelong supporter I'm disappointed that an expansion of the current stadium has not been considered properly.
The Kop Grandstand and Centenary stand are excellent and previously it has only been the proximity of residential properties that have prevented the Anfield Road (away end) and Main Stand (the side with the cameras and subs benches are) from being developed.
At the last game I went to (against Aston Villa) I walked all the way round the ground and both Anfield Road and Lothair Road (behind the main stand) are now virtually derelict.
If a new Main Stand and Anfield Road end were built, taking advantage of this larger footprint, and additional 15,000, or even 20,000 capacity could easily be achieved.
On a separate note, I went out to eat with a guy who is part of the backroom staff at Everton and he was telling me that their plans for a new ground are to build a traditional style football ground with four separate stands and open corners ala the planned Molineaux and Ibrox.
