Posibbly worse than Creamfields , impressive!

although if trance was my thing i'd hazard a guess this is a decent lineup???

That's why I'm going, that's a pretty good line up. :)

Rumours of Daft Punk seemed to have turned out false. Why am I not surprised?

Could probably pass a night in the Global Tent but other than that the rest is a no-no for me.. and not paying 80-odd quid for that.

This is very much pitched at late teens to mid-20s market. It's a shame as having a decent mix of age-groups is one of the things which works best at a festival or rave. Guess you might get some older Visionquest fans from the area going along. The rest of us are clearly 'out on our ear' :!:

Seems they've gone far more for the dubstep / drum & bass crowd, and have done it more as each year has passed.

I think ASOT, Gods, Toolroom will be the tents I'd spend my time in.

The Godskitchen tent is a bit... well... insane.

Only been to GG once and would love to do it again some time. I normally try to do a festival every year. Normally it's Creamfields. This year probably SW4, if anything.

Do two, and come along to Global ;)
The Gods tent (I imagine) will be over two days. There are too many DJs playing for one. Could be wrong though.

Not yet done SW4 (regret of mine from the time I lived in London).

Am i missing something?

Where is your Guetta / SHM / EDM type tent? The nearest to that will be the Toolroom tent I guess?

It definitely looks like there's more breaks and dnb there than usual

^^ there was no tent like that as such last year either. Axwell & Angello separately did Main Stage appearances if I remember correctly (never went near the main stage) .. this year, they have Afrojack doing the main stage instead (commensurately  ).

brilliant line up. Voorn, jamie jones, seth troxler, steve aoki?
thats pretty decent.
but ill be away from the main stage thats for sure!

You went to GG last year? Wonder if I walked past you at any point
I think, from a commercial point of view, this is far less of a commercial venture than Creamfields is in 2012. It's got alot more dubstep, etc, than Creamfields too. (not my thing personally)

I have a terrible memory ;)

Going this year?

tsk tsk  ! No, definitely not this year. It was only the Bedrock tent which saved my night last time. Not a big fan of festivals at the best of times - I far preferred the old illicit raves in the middle of nowhere with a bag of love hearts and a tub of tiger balm. ;)

No mate - nothing quite as salubrious as that and can't find any footage of most of it..

Sunrise is about as 'official' as things got, especially when I was blatantly under-age 8O ..

A bit more organized by 1993 in fairness - Tribal Gathering near Bath was absoutely awesome ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6vltfzpjg4 ) .. but the police thing had become a complete nightmare by the end of that Summer. The Criminal Justice Bill thing had us protesting in the streets (seem to recall something about lots of eggs and a certain Mr Howard - but no details ;) ) ... by 1994 I was pretty much mainly in clubs.

The festival thing never really caught on for me - had an occasional dabble (still do) but that's it.
