Hi guys how are you? I will be in ibiza from May 21st to 25th .. I have a few days to enjoy the island. May 23 will be my birthday ... 30 years old. Can't wait to celebrate on the island. I need to ask you for advice ... we will leave in 3, two of us are LGBT, one is mixed. We love clubs and dancing, we love the queer scene in the clubs, we love to rock out and if the after party is organized we are the first to continue the party. What events do you recommend me to attend? I don't know if: 1) amnesia opening 2) glitterbox on Sunday 3) flower party on Monday.
If we participate in the amnesia opening we can't go on glitterbox on sunday becouse the opening will be very loooong.... In your opinion, due to our characteristics, is glitterbox better? is the unofficial lgbt room?.

Really thanks!
Astonmar

maybe glitterbox is a little more suited because of the LGBT factor, but amnesia opening on sunday morning when the sun shines into the terrace is ibiza clubbing gold, period.

I'd do that and either dc10 on monday night if you want more 'pure clubbing' or flower power at pacha which is quite an unique event to see.

My partner and l have been visiting ibiza for many years now, the LGBT scene has changed a lot since the early days. From the Anfora club, to the crazy days of Soap and all the calle de virgen gay bars.. Its not as wild as it used to be but there is plenty of fun to be had along the calle de virgen area, bars like MAD and so on, Sundays pre Glitterbox are great as the Gays / Drags are out.. We have been going to Glitterbox since the Space terrace days, and now at Hi, and its one of the best LGBT crowds, especially as what parties are on for your dates, but as Stivi mentioned, ibiza is very open to everyone and l have never felt anyway uncomfortable in any bar / club or dancefloor. Enjoy, relax, be yourself and an early Happy 30th Birthday to you! 🎂

It is strange that the gay scene has shrunk significantly over the years. Doesn’t make sense, seems like there’s an opportunity there.

We spoke to Guy Williams last October. He told us it's the same in cities all around the world. Since the advent of dating apps, less LGBQT people are going clubbing. I guess the ones that really love it still go, but the casual ones who went to hook up can now do it all from their phone

Very true, but also with being Gay in most of the world these days has become less taboo and more integrated in to every day life. Once you had only the safe space of a gay bar / club, but (in general) people have become far more liberal nowadays, so we can be ourselves in any bar/ club, which l also think why we have seen bars / clubs dwindle.

I fully agree with what Guy Williams says. I know that the island is liberal no one judges you but at the same time it is also very "hetero normative" in certain situations, I mean...if you are queer and you are in a room full of queer or in a mix (a real one, not 10% and 90%) you can have fun in a way...if you are queer during a night at amnesia with 90% of hetero sexual is a little bit different, but is totally normal is not a question of judgment
