Girls - don't go walking on Playa den Bossa beach early mornings.

A friend of mine bought a watch, that she thought was a fake Gucci, from a Luck Lucky Man. It wasn't even that, it was made by 'Cuecci' and stopped after 45 minutes. We were all most amused. She was not.

I bought one of those in Magaluf- piece of sh1t!

The lucky lucky man even had the cheek to tell me it was swiss made!

I hate all those lucky lucky people, it's really not on to be hasseling people, women especially, they sell cheap, sh*it goods, stare at you making you feel uncomfortable and often can't take no for an answer, if i want to buy cheap sh*it sunglasses and watches I know where to find them but I wish they kept themselves to themselves and did not approach people, also, I DO NOT appreciate them offering me drugs when Im taking a relaxing strole into town for a drink, talk about giving the island a bad reputation for drugs, they should go and sell their goods back in Africa!

interestingly the looky looky men sold african art and artefacts when they first came to ibiza (as they did in other spanish resorts) their shift into the drug dealing business came as a result of a large market, which previously hadn't existed, opening up in the late 80's early 90's.

You can't really blame them for wanting to make money can you? Just off the coast of Africa is an island that fills up with tourists carrying large amounts of euros around with them. Hmm. I don't think they'd have much of a market for ecstasy back in Africa...

There are just as many whites selling drugs in Ibiza as blacks. The difference is the looky looky men are alot more direct about it!

Yeah I know man and 'u going clubbing tonight? Wanna buy a ticket for Cream?'

If I had a euro for everytime i've been asked that - I'd buy a vip table at Cream!

I hate all those lucky lucky people ...
90% of the "lookylookymen" are very friendly people who only want to make a living
this way or another.
as soon as they know you (mostly the second time they see you) and they know
that you don´t want to buy anything from them, they don´t molest you anymore ...

It would be fantastic if that's what they still sold, its a shame how things have changed, far more cultural and likely to get me talking to them.

Yer I totally see they're just trying to make a living, I spoz I've just had a few bad experiences with them, admittedly not so much in ibiza but some bad experiences in the canaries. I had a few follow me down the road last year in san an trying to sell me drugs and black or white or any other colour I don't like blokes following me when I'm making it clear I'm not interested..god I sound really miserable, it's just I don't feel comfortable around them, but I'll take the advice icebaer and be polite the first time and make it clear I'm not interested and hope they leave me to my holiday in peace the rest of the week!

She too got followed and they wudnt leave her alone and she called me and i came to meet her half way . they saw me laughed and walked in opposite direction.

But i do h8 it too when they dnt take no for an answer , they can see youve got a wacth, they can see your wearing glasses and the drugs? no thanks.

Yeah some of them looky looky boys are not bad people, their only trying to turn a coin- be it the right or wrong way. But if I see them hassling someone into buying something they are clearly not interested in, I politely tell them to piss off and they get the message.

I can see how some girls might get a bit freaked by them.

It's those gypsy pick-pockets you wanna watch out for...

My thoughts exactly! :)

as 2 girls/women who have been to Ibiza many many times (no bokes); we have NEVER felt unsafe round the looky looky men. Just shake your head, say "no thanks" and keep walking or if sat down, keep talking.

just bk from pdb stayed in hotel garbi these looky lookys did my head in all holiday we wud be sitting at table eating dinner adn they come over shoving cds and glasses in our faces when we say no politley he sits down stinkin of BO while were tryin to eat our food, wouldnt fck off!! and then followin us down the road at night tryin to sell us drugs and shouting **** at us wen we said no, somethin needs to be done bout them defo, they need shooting! lol.:spank:

I had the exact same experience...couldn't have a meal in peace...and When I was on the beach one came up to me and asked if I wanted to buy sunglasses... I politely said no thanks mate he wouldn't go away in the end I started to ignore him and he started to get aggressive saying...You are born into money you can afford anything I was like I F**kin work 5 days a week so I can come on holiday once a year and get hassled by you.

Luckily my bf came over n he went...! but it p***ed me off I work dam hard all year round, I know they aren't as lucky as me and I appreciate that but i'm fed up of them ruining my holiday...Your right something needs to be done!!

Sorry to go on ranting people!!

They do hassle people who don't want to be hassled and peoples clothes/belongings do often go missing from the beach if they go for a night time swim - really hte lookys are the only people round so the reputation they get for this may or may not be deserved but on the whole they really are not bad people. Drug dealing and petty theft is a nuisance of course but they looked out for me last year.

I was walking along the new pathway thingy to San An Bay about 6am (foolishly by myself) and there were two seriously drunk guys (foreign - Italian I think but I'm not sure) following me making rude suggestions and trying to grope me. One of the lookies came running up to them and sent them back the other way and stood and watched them for ages to make sure they left me alone.

TBH I think a scream and a smack with a high heel would have seen the guys off but I was very grateful to the lookie lookie bloke all the same.

See theyr'e not all bad are they? Good to have a looky guardian angel!

Did he try and sell you pills afterwards though?

I remember after breakfast a few years ago I took an early morning walk on the beach. Saw a naked couple stumbling out from their apartment complex, and some drunk guys who had stumbled out of Space. Ahh, the old days!
