Girlie Thread

It means your skin is primed for the treatment and it's less likely to go blotchy and flake off.

My spraytan lady recommended moisturising the night before, rather than the day of.

all over your body like:?.........so basically in the areas where you skin is dry then it won't work properly or it will flake off.:?

Babs - I know youve mentioned before that you use San Tropez....is there much difference between a spray tan and using the above? I use S.Tropez but IMO, the more you use it - the less it works I find.

I use San Tropez and then just have a spray tan if I'm going on holiday/big night out/etc.

Which San Tropez do you use?? I use the mousse and it still seems to work for me :? The spray one is really good, as Rach said above if you want a full-on bronzed look for a special occasion it really works.......and is so much easier than bribing your b/friend to do your back for you with San Tropez

cool girls, cheers for the advice!

I'm going to stick away from formal shorts unless I find a complete outfit that is uber amazing

Vests I might need to bulk up for, I'll go shopping for em a week before and see if I can pull it off  . They're not really my 'thing' though to be honest. We'll see!

Hair - I think I'll get my hairdresser friend to do my hair for cheap and then get a really nice cut just before I go :p Otherwise I'll spend the first part of this summer with silly silly hair

Need to get some more 3/4 length - at the moment I'm liking the worn out cords rolled up to below the knee but nice and neatly, like an island stranded robinson crusoe.

I've had gel nails done once, not acrylic... I'm not a big nail person but i did it once for something to do and they did look quite funky for a while. I have really small, soft nails too... and not just short nails, but short nailbeds( this is what they call them I think).

they make your nails look and feel harder aand are quite nice... here i pay about 30 - 35$ for gel nails, so about 15 pounds in your land.. i think acrylic nails are cheaper about 25 $, so about 12 pounds... I haven't had acrylic nails though..

I think I'm just going to do Johnsons holiday skin for the days leading up to my vacation and take it with me to ensure I can maintain a tan rather than a full on spray tan (I'd be scared I'd look like I'd actually had a spray tan  ).

Holiday Skin seems to work quite well for me, all I'll need to do is find a willing person to do my back!

ALSO WHAT TO DO WITH MY HAIR? IT IS A FRIGGING MESS

It's no good. I can't leave this thread.

I don't know how you're meant to do anything with your hair in this weather. I haven't even bothered trying to straighten mine or wear it down this week.

Scoobs I have had acrylics done a few times. I had them done when I had really short nails first. They glue tips onto your natural nails and put the acrylics over them. This cost me about £35. They looks really nice and your natural nail grows underneath the acrylic.
I've also had acrylic gels on my natural nails when they are at a decent length. It costs about £28.
They do look really nice and I'd say if it's for your big day then def get it done ;)

Downside: They file down your natural nail so much it makes them very week, basically like paper, so when and if you take your acrylics off they will break very easily.
If you intend to always have acrylics, you need to get them done about once every 3 weeks otherwise you will have a big gap between your acrylics and your natural nail growing through. It depends whether you have the money for infills every 3 weeks (about £16) and the time!

Personally I found them too much hard work to maintain. They look great for a couple of weeks then you get the growth and you've got to get them done again. I'm currently growing mine off at the moment and they look sh1t, but once they're gone I'll just grow my natural nails back.

I'd definately say get them for a wedding though because you can't have manky old bitten down nails in all your pics (not saying yours are but you know what I mean ;)) you want to have nails of a goddess!

cheers Becs!

My nails really are manky old stumps  so I need to do something for the wedding!

 My 'fro is totally OOC at the mo, I am wearing a headscarf and look like Hilda Ogden today in a vein attempt to keep it under control 8O

I have just had the same dull style for sooooo many years now! I want to get it cut short, but too scared!!

Definately get them for your wedding then, they look really nice! But be prepared for them to grow afterwards and look quite silly for a while
I'd also advise getting them done at least 3 days before the wedding, they take a while to get used to at first, they feel a bit like claws especially if you've never had long nails.

I HATE MY HAIR  It's just so boring at the moment, its at the awkward shoulder length and it's doing NOTHING. I want to grow it long but its taking ages. And its so thin! I want lashings of long curly hair like Jessica Simpson :(

A friend of mine had a bloke who wanted to use her Johnson's Holiday Skin for something inadvisable. She was like, "I really wouldn't do that unless you want an orange k**b"!

My friend has hair like yours too, she buys clip on hair extensions. They look fantastic!
