GHB - Can anyone help?

Bastards

Sorry to hear about that. Glad to hear you are ok :)

Sounds a bit like GHB. Some of my mates who I used to go clubbing with used to hammer the GHB, probably still do- some of the symptoms sound like it. I never seen any of them feel sick though unless they took loads. Maybe another dodgy drug?

Luckily the press have got all over this and blew it up recently so hopefully more people will be more aware of predators when they go out.

Oral rehydration salts contain a variety of salts (electrolytes) and sugar. The combination of electrolytes and sugar stimulates water and electrolyte absorption from the gut. It therefore prevents or reverses dehydration and replaces lost salts in conditions such as diarrhoea and vomiting.

Basically very good way to replenish the salts lost from sweating whilst clubbing.Everyone drinks loads of water but that can create an imbalence of electrolytes in the body and cause problems.
All part of the Ibiza medicine kit along with 5-HTP and Berocca 8)

I'm sure we'll meet eventually :D

You maybe right, especially as you know Becki so much better.
I just can't get my head around someone spiking another persons drink just for spite?
I see why (though don't understand why) people spike a girls drink with Rohipnol because they clearly have a motivation and intent in what they are doing. To do it just to make someone ill and maybe not even see they effects I just can comprehend.

The fact that I work in the Pharmaceutical industry makes me overly cautious about what I do and I guess I am a little obsessive in trying to do everything pre and post clubbing to minimise the damage to my brain body. In fact I was evangelising to Ferd on the merits of Berocca and Dioralyte before and after Friday's night out. 8O

I like your thinking, it's def good to be extra-cautious and I look forward to hearing about the merits of Berocca etc ;)

The thing is tho Bec NEVER loses it, the no of times she's been the 'sensible' one and looked after the rest of us at a wkend, as soon as she told me I knew it was completely out of character for her, which makes it even worse cos she's never been in that state before

As to why, there's just some sick ppl out there, I'm just so grateful for Bec that she had Jon with her and the First Aid ppl in The End were really good.

Anyway on a lighter note, looking forward to meeting you on podium in Ministry sometime soon ;)

It's testement to the end that they actually cared, some clubs I've been to find it almost too much effort to get your coat from the hanger :?
It's nice to know they had a room for this eventuality.

Likewise to the podium meet :D

Really sorry to hear about your bad experience - downright scary.. my ex had to go to hospital after some (unt spiked her drink, and another friend of mine had the same thing only about 4 months ago - we need to be so vigilant and look out for your mates!

so sorry for you becki, thank god you were safe with your boyfriend!

happened to me in paris as well and the most disgusting part was that i could tell who had done it and pointed them to the bouncers who promised to hold them while i called the cops, but as i came back from the cloakroom they had let the blokes go! am still angry thinking about it

Becki, I hope you feel right as rain soon. I had some cnut spike me the day before my 27th birthday by putting a load of base amphetamine in my drink (he thought it would keep me going- w*nker). It was too much for me and I od'd. Spent 4 days in hospital with hypothermia (in the middle of a warm September) and was extremely lucky not to suffer total circulatory collapse. I hope that every single person who ever spikes someone else's drink spends an eternity in hell choking on flaming streams of there own sh1t.

Was really sorry/shocked to hear from Sarah on Sat night just how bad you'd been Becki.....i didn't realise you were that bad when i saw you and Jon on the stairs when the guys and i left The End.

It does sound as though you might have been spiked but i wouldn't necessarily think it was GeeBee....the fact you're still feeling the effects now don't point to that as GHB completely leaves the body/has no effects after about Eight/Nine hours i think. Whatever, though it's a really shitty thing to happen and i hope you're feeling better soon...

Very nasty and not a nice experience at all. Had it happen to me once, years ago, when I'd got chatting to a bloke who seemed really sound but turned up was just being nice for a bit of action. He'd been buying me drinks (which he'd insisted on doing) and then went I felt odd and just wanted to go home with my friends, he started screaming at me. There are some truly vile people out there.

Do you recall your drink being out of sight? I'm assuming that you were probably drinking water for most of the night. In which case, it would seem unlikely to have been spiked, unless it was one of your earlier drinks. Fair enough, it can happen very quickly, but if you were in a large group and clearly with your boyfriend, it seems an odd thing for someone to do.

Had you been feeling under the weather last week? Sometimes that, combined with the disco biscuits and a hot, sweaty club without decent ventilation can make even the most seasoned, sensible clubber feel queer.

I hope that you weren't spiked and that you feel better soon. Thank goodness you were with friends and you boyfriend when it happened though.

Hi Becki, something like this happened to me once last year and I know exactly what it was.

Ketamine is flooding the club scene nowadays and it is a horse tranquiliser. In small amounts it can cause an intense rush similar to Ecstasy, hence a lot of it is being sold as E. However it is a tranquiliser and if it isn't mixed correctly and you take a lot (a lot can actually be a tiny amount physically) it can cause the exact symptoms you described, sometimes even unconciousness where the main danger is that people choke on their own vomit.

The night I was hit with vomiting and the inability to raise my head out of my arms, my friends had taken exactly the same stuff as me and were fine. There were other people in the club vomiting non-stop however and the following week I felt so detached and out of it.

I doubt you were given Rohypnol as this is reported to just knock you out completely, and i doubt you were drinking GHB as this causes an intense rush during which time you feel really really horny before the bad symptoms kick in.

What you described is the exact same thing that happened to me when I overdosed on ketamine.

The good news is there is actually a quick and easy cure. the next time you feel like that (if you can face it, I actually stopped doing drugs at this point in my life after experiencing that shit!) anyway, the next time this happens to you get someone you trust to fetch you two large glasses of orange juice. down them and you will be okay within the hour. apparently the vitamin c kills the buzz and brings you back to your senses.

Thanks for this must go out to one of the bouncers at The Cross in London who found me in a messed up state and sorted me out with some juice.

Becki girl, I am so angry that happened to you and I hope you are feeling much better soon... its super scary, I know.

I too have been drugged. Mine was different though... I was standing at the bar and literally passed out midsentence... prolly a massive hit of GHB was so kindly poured it my drink    Thank heaven I was surrounded by friends, including my enormous friend Shannon (now in the FBI in fact 8) ) who carried me out and took care of me. I guess Shannon went back to the bar after I was safe with friends and had woken up (SUPER woozy during the aftermath, almost like the feeling right before you fade off before surgery, and later came a massive headeache :x ). He went inside and screamed that if he ever finds out who did that to me he was going to rip them to shreds lol.

If I am drinking a mixed drink I often times put a cocktail napkin over the top, stick my straw through, and use the sweat from the glass to smooth down the edges. I get some peculiar looks, but I'd rather be known as Paranoia Girl rather than that poor chick who ended up in dire straits 8O

Scum of the earth people that do this are   I am just relieved that you are safe and sound. :P
