Getting a birthday cake in Ibiza

Following on from a conversation we were having at lunch, Jon was saying he'd like to get a birthday cake for Tom's birthday on the morning of the 23rd - any ideas of the best places we could maybe go and order one on the island - pref PDB/Figuretes/Ibiza Town side??

(Sorry Jon I know you said you'd try and sort it but cakes and domestic stuff are obviously women's jobs  ;) )

if i were you i would go to one of the many cake shops in that area as i reckon that would be tha best place to order a cake.

I am a big lover of cake  and sorry to all Spanish people but I have never found one that tastes nice in Spain

 Well I wasn't going to go to a garage was I   I meant can anyone recommend a good one

many garages now sell snacks, drinks and cakes.

seriously though you can order birthday cakes with things like happy birthday iced onto them.

there is a really good french cake shop on isidoro macabich just past the dole going towards the police station. it's on the opposite side from the buses and they make cakes to order. or if you want to try a really good spanish cake then the pasteleria canela on c/aragon is reputedly one of the best in ibiza. alternatively ask mackie as i'm sure one of his many aunties probably has a cake shop.

Yes that's the kind of thing we were after, a proper birthday cake, thankyou for those suggestions Stephen :D

I make birthday cakes. Proper birthday cakes. It's not as easy as 'going to a cake shop' to buy cakes in Ibiza as most cakes are refridgerated and melt if you don't get them home in time. They are usually made with icecream.

I've made a lot of birthday cakes for friends' parties.

If anyone wants me to make them a cake, I'd be happy to do so.

Oh god, just realised, I could again be accused of self promotion ;)

Noooooo! Is there a 'Hannah's book of recipes' available in all good bookstores now?;) ;)

Noooooo! Actually, I've never charged money for making someone a birthday cake...I just think a nice person deserves one....and I'm too busy to write a cake book....but you're giving me ideas for the future ;)
