Anyone watching or listening to George Galloway's US Senate hearing live on BBC News at the moment? Its quite funny. He has the Senate on the ropes and they dont seem to have any answer to him.

He has an answer to every single question they pose to him and he keeps embarrassing the US Govt by bringing up the many mistakes they have made in relation to Iraq.

Its great viewing.

I'm watching it, he's a horrible man but I agree with all what he says and you're right it's great viewing seeing the Senate lost for words

Cheers for the heads up, just tuning on the the Internet (as i'm at work)

i watched quite a bit of it too. the looks on those senators faces was priceless.

when he said 'i met sadam as many times as donald rumsfeld did but at least i wasn't selling him arms' i thought they were gonna burst into tears, poor loves :D

George Galloway is a cnut.
The Senate have testimonies and documents from a wide range of sources, including the ex vice-president of Iraq.

Galloway's only defence is his constant denial and then pointless rants about American foreign policy which have no connection with the accusation at hand.

Should we believe him because he says he's innocent?
Or rely more heavily on evidence from a much larger number of individuals? There's no smoke without fire.

Galloway should be hanged for treason, his words have caused attacks against our fine soliders in Iraq.

George Galloway will hopefully get a year in a maximum security prison.

Then the obnoxious self righteous arrogant twat will find out the real meaning of "profiting by the back door".

i think ull find that the US Senate doesnt have a wide range of sources, they're basing their allegations on the evidence of mainly one man, who was in jail during the regime of Saddam.

no smoke without fire? i guess thats what was being said when the 'authentic documents' turned up days after the fall of the regime. very convenient and they turned out to be forgeries, dont hear anything being said about that.

his rants against america are not pointless. rather they are arguments that have been ignored for too long by the international community. tony blair and bush are responsible for the attacks agisnt troops in iraq, as are magazines like newsweek who make false claims. the war was illegal and it brings up the issues galloway was ranting about.

the neo-conservative plague that has swept america, coupled with the collapse of american liberalism is a disaster for the world as a whole. the US govt is nothing but a bunch of hypocrites who think that they can do what they want, when they want and to hell with everyone else. their interference in the affairs of other countries has been goin for decades, particularly with Kissenger and his dealings with South America, they actually helped Pinochet get into power.

Rant over.

Galloway wasn't in America to preach about the illegality of war, he was there to defend himself against allegations made by the Senate. Yet he provided no evidence.
Merely stating his innocence cannot be deemed to be solid defence in a court of law.
The man is a pathetic waste of space, exploiting growing racial tensions in this country for his own political gain.

i take that point, but in highlighting the illegality of the war, would u not agree that he has also highlighted the lies of the US Govt, their dangerous foreign poilcy that threatens global stability and thus the sheer futility and hypocrisy of their efforts to try and blacken a man's name, and whether u like it or not they have no evidence that stands up.

to adopt ure line of argument, the attempts of the US Govt to convince us that Galloways guilty amounts to no more than them saying that he is guilty, backed up by a witness(es) whose credibilty is extremly suspect to say the least.

Stu, I havent made my mind up on Galloway yet but found yesterdays testimony highly amusing. Purely for the fact of the string of errors contained in the documentation used to accuse Galloway and others.
The whole thing was a shambles and the Senate seemed to have no answers to every error Galloway pointed out.
It was interesting to see the angles he used to defend himself and also attack US policy at the same time.
