George Best "hours to live"

According to his doctor George Best is unexpected to survive, with only hours to live :(

What does everyone think of this? Some people are devastated at the death of such a footballing legend, others look at it as of a wife-beating alcoholic. Discuss!

Me personally, I think anyone who is suffering and ultimately is near death is sad :( yet I can't help thinking how wasted the latter part of his life was, all that boozing, womanising and bankruptcy :?

Yes it is sad, the man is a legend.

However, he hasn't really helped himself has he and is indeed the victim of his own misgivings.

Sad but true.....

He pressed the button :?

Live fast, die young. Who wants to get old anyway. He's had a good innings and i'm sure he loved (almost) every minute of it, i know i would have!

Me, if i have my grandads genes.

He's 84/85(?) and looks no older than 60. He doesn't seem to have ages since i was a nipper and is totally fit and well.

Legend!

mixed emotions

footballing great etc

but...................if i was a relative of they guy whose liver he got i wouldnt be too pleased :?

Yes very sad.

I don't think people should be so harsh. None of us know or understand what he's been through in his private life.

If indeed he is in his last few hours, let's hope he goes peacefully in his sleep.

:(

if you wanna recover from an addiction, you have to WANT it yourself, and not do if cos other people want you to.

All these people saying no sympathy - I don't think George would even want your sympathy. He's hardly been apologetic about his lifestyle choices over the years, until very lately.

I think Paddy kinda nailed it, its just sad to see the old guy go.
