I am back to Ibiza again this year after a few years gap. What are the gay friendly gay nights this year - if any? Cheers

Well this summer you should head mostly to Space; "Home Of La Troya" on Wednesday nights,Gorgeus on Saturday nights and ofcourse Matinee on Saturday days 8)

La Troya at Space was really packed last Wednesday. Was a good night but I thought not as good as Amnesia. I didnt make any other of nights mentioned above.

not wanting to confuse things.........but i personally don't think that definitions of gay friendly work in ibiza in the same way they do in the UK.

sure there are recognised gay events like la troya or matinee but i think that any night that attracts a cosmopolitan/diverse crowd can be described as gay friendly if not specifically targeting a gay crowd. In fact, i'd say most nights other than those that attract the 18-30 UK crowd (i'm thinkin eden and es paradis mainly) could be described as somewhere in between non-homophobic and gay friendly. IMO i've seen as much gay friendliness (if you know what i mean) in the coco loco at manumission as i have at la troya or matinee.

also the ibicenco nights/events like Zenith, People from Ibiza, Balearic People, Flower Power. (not sure how many are still around this year:? )

the liverpool club garland which is ther on a wenesday as always been a bit gay orientated dunno wat its like in ibiza tho

Well I'm going with a bunch of gay friends for a week and we are doing the following:

Matinee @ Space, Gorgeous @ Space, Bora Bora, Circo Loco @ DC10, La Troya (either @ Space or @ Amnesia). These are all guaranteed a good gay turnout and will be very gay positive (indeed La Troya and Matinee are gayer than gay!).

We haven't decided which Pacha night we will do but the DEF MIX and Defected nights will have a lot of gay boys as will Release Yourself.

Basically stay away from Eden and Es Paradis in San Antonio and you'll be fine.

Ultimately of course Ibiza is about the music and the atmosphere and being with good friends irrespective of sexuality. But that being said, some planning is advisable!

I'm afraid Ibiza is not as gay as it was in years before. Plus some previous gay parties like La Troya, aren't gay parties anymore actually. There're gay people, yes, but most people aren't gay currently. The only gay party of previous years that kept a very gay atmosphere was Scandal, very nice party this one, very different from La Troya (this one with happy commercial house mainly, and Scandal with tech-house and a darker and harder feel). It's a real pity Scandal is not in a big club this year. :x I don't understand it as it used to get very busy and fun.

Moreover I don't like that egoist and monopolizing policy Space has adopted. Space vs the rest of Ibiza. Space night and day. Space here, Space there, Space everywhere. I don't think Space is a good place for La Troya. It had to stay at Amnesia. Matinee fits well there because it's by day, but parties like La Troya don't.

So, Ibiza is still a good place for gay people, for sure, but you have to see the main gay bars and compare to years before to understand something (each one may have their own conclusions) is making the gay people to quit going to the island.

Cheers!

Just avoid Anfora ;)
Depends on nights. Some nights I'd rather go to Anfora instead of going to one of those rip-off parties in big clubs. Other nights, yes, I would avoid Anfora at all costs as it becomes a dolly house. It's helpful to read about their weekly parties on a guide or flyers.

That new choice I've read about Babylon, formerly Lucifer, as a new gay night club sounds interesting.
