Here's my rant:

Was promoted temporarily last month into a managerial position, and have been completely trained up on the job, and now know it inside out.

Had to have an interview today to keep it for the next 3 months. Was supposed to be a formality cause I was doing the job so well, and all the staff that I manged wanted me to get the job to.

So, had my interview today, and went great. No one else was supposed to be going for it as well, so thought it was a dead cert. However, who turns up for an interview at the last moment....one of my best mates for the past 15 years! :evil: :evil: :evil:

He doesnt know the job, and has no experience or plans to stay in the industry. However, at the last moment the interview panel changed to a women he has worked with for years :evil:

Yes, you guessed it...he just got the job. He's got a job lined up for February in London to, and cant do the job, so god know's what lies he told them :evil:

All I know is that he's just lost his best mate, funking cock-eyed lanky twat! :evil: :evil:

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully your former mate will get caught and then you will get the job again.

He will only be there for a few weeks...bet he didnt tell them he was moving to London. He must have lied all the way through as well and told them he knew how to do the, which he really doesnt.

I'd made the decision to pursue this as a career to, and he knew that.

Doesnt surprise me though, although he's always been one of my best mates, we all think he's an arrogant prick!

Honestly, I would steer clear of him, but if he even mentions the job to you, I would seriously throw down on him. Too much anger, too much frustration and f***ing pratts like this won't learn until you cuff him one, two or 10.

I'm not the fighting type at all, but I can bet you he'll come up to me tomorrow and as something like 'sorry to hear you didnt get it', with a smug grin on his face :evil:

You dont do things like that to your best mate, and now I'm out of a job when he even had a good one before. At least, he's getting shouted at tomorrow :evil:

Can't believe they thought that he was better qualified than you... have you had the chance to see if there are any lies in his CV (even a tiny porky is totally illegal and would get him sacked :twisted: )
 
His cv is laughable, had a read of it a few weeks ago and his version of the 'truth' is a joke :roll:

When I got phoned earlier to tell me I didnt get it, I just told them that he was speaking shit:

-the jobs for 3 months, but he's actually moving to London at the end of Jan
-I can do 80% of the job already, he can oly do a max of 40%
-he'd not interested in pursuing a career in the industry, I am
-all the staff hate him, they all wanted me to get it

fergie, was the interview panel just that one woman? most interviews I've been to there has been more than one interviewer.. Is there any way you can talk to the res of the interview panel and ask what happened?
 
There was the woman (area manager), and one other guy who would have been on the same level as me. He didnt really have any power in it though, and I know he wanted me to get it...he's spent the last month training me up, and is now a good mate.

Ultimately, it was down to her...who my 'mate' has known for years :evil:

Not heard from the cock yet, he'll be too scared to phone cause he'll know I'm furious.
 
well i know it sucks to hear the old silver-lining-grey-cloud crap.. but you never know!
