hey peeps .....
hope you are all good and groovy and that you all had fantastic new year's eves
got a little gripe
back in the day when i started clubbing
everyone faced the dj and grooved together
it was so communal
you couldnt tell where one group of friends started or finished
now its all funking circles
groups of mates dancin in circles
and only smiling at peeps they know
its all about circles
and territory
and elbows and occasional full scale body checking
if i was into that kind of thing i would get off and on the tube at rush hour
the culture these days is a bit poor if you ask me
and its not about harping on about the old days
but one thing that peeps always used to say about clubbing back then
was that they loved the way that unlike normal pubs and clubs... raves had a sense of adventure
a sense of community
no agro
now there is more agro than ever
every one is so paranoid and reserved
and rave culture has been infected by a parasitical sub culture of piss head blokes who think that it is ok to go to raves and pretty much molest thrilled up birds they dont know
WHAT THE FUNK has happened to something that was so special and so innocent?
the only place i think you still get the original feel is the Space terrace on a Sunday afternoon in the summer
thank god for that
(Bora Bora was the other place that had that vibe )
so last night night the music was fantastic
the thrills were super charged
and i enjoyed grooving between the two circles that i knew
my best bit was at 7 this morning when there only half a dozen of us left groovin
loadsa space
no circles coz how many circles you gonna make with 6 peeps?
we were all groovin togher
one people
one music
one world
interacting with the dj proppa
and knowing warm smile all round
just like it should be
