I know I schould have posted it in some thai forum, but howver I get the feeling that many of you clubbing loving peeps also attend international parties elsewhere, so........ here goes.
Fullmoonparties in Koh Phagnan, any good??

Dangerous?

good music? info needed and when to go?

Also do they have similar parties in Ibiza??
 
Think Robsta from this site has been all over that area lately. Try a serach and i'm sure you may find some good info
 
My sister and a group of mates went for new years eve last year. They all absolutely loved it (i :cry: couldnt afford to go) and they planning another trip this year!

.............Mind you i am coming to Ibiza and they aren't!!!!
 
I went to the Full Moon Party in 2001. It was an AMAZING time! I just loved it. Thailand is a magical place... more beautiful that anything I've ever seen. The party was a ton of fun... I stayed until the next night partying.

I heard recently that because tourism is down the party isn't as great as it used to be before all the terrorist attacks started. But I can't confirm that of couse.

No matter what I would DEFINITELY recommend it!!! 8)
 
Its a huge beach party on a tiny island in the bay of thailand. you have to take a little boat over there from koh samui. the beach gets packed and there's all kinds of people partying at about 10 or 12 different bars that all have beachs front! there's all types of music, from trance to house to rock... everything. anyway, everyone just parties on the beach!

its amazing.
 
awww it sounds really great! heard there are a lot of peeps on drugs and one schouldl ook out for spikes drinks, but still.........sounds and looks really neat!
 
my mate went last year and he said the full moon parties are crazier than any night he's had in ibiza 8O im not convinced though.

i went to 3 full moon parties this year,
april,may and june.
ok it depends on what u like.
i hated my 1st one,it was WAY too crowded and messy messy people,alot of piss heads there. however my last 2 i loved,but mainly cause i was behind the bar with my worker friends.it starts early but i didnt get wrecked till 4am(the best time cause idiots gone home)i then stayed on beach front dancing till 8am and then went to backyard(after party) till 4pm the next day. backyard is wicked!!!! really ibiza stylee,lush!
generally the music is RnB over there tho,however u can get funky house on the night and rock and roll,plus trance too.
Its very easy to get stuck there!
only thing i got anoyed with was amount swedish there(sorry)
girls with long blonde hair,big boobs(ok thats fine but when thats all u see urghhhhhhh)and they act like slappers,there alot of slags there,hence why my boyfriend i had out there could easily pull 15 stunning girls a night if he wanted.
its definatly worth going and im def going back for another one next year but it phangan doesnt have the best beach or sea,due to parties. koh phi phi has night life but AMAZING water!! so beautiful u wouldnt believe,and railey beach of krabi is gorgeous! koh samui ok,bit touristy but real good for holiday and CHEAP gorgeous clothes.

IM SO JEALOUS!!!I WANNA GO LIVE THERE! :evil: ;) :lol:
 
awww sounds good kitty but can imagine being annoyed over the swedes therre too, haha altho i fit the description perfectly hahahaha! well, i think i might go there, must check it out! thanks for all the wonderful info so far - more stories, plz ;)
 
i've been to about half a dozen full moon parties in thailand, and they are great, there is definetly crap elements to them, but if you go got the right places at the right time, they are amazing..i.e the best palce is the 'backyard bar' , the backyard bar opens about 10.00 am AFTER the full moon party, and has dj's ranging from sven vath to danny rampling playing there (danny rampling said it was one his favourite venues), the place is amazing, free to get in, no roof, no security, and right on the edge of a cliff so it looks out over the sparkling water....it is an amazing atmosphere and really goes off, as by 10.00am the next day all the p*ss heads are in bed, and you're just left with 'up for it' people...

highly recommend them!!

as for how it compares to ibiza...it doesn't. they are compleletly different, basically thailand has far, far less big name dj's (although that is changing), no 'swanky clubs' (although also changing) and doesn't have that balearic chic feel that ibiza has. However it does have an amazing lawless atmosphere which makes it pretty wild, and the island is beautiful too, they're both fantastic...also thailand is a million times cheaper!!
 
you don't have to be a 'user of drugs'. Go home at 4.00, get up at midday, and go and join the parties, the backyard bar goes on all day!!!
