Frustrated at red tape for foreign small businesses!!

In the am, I will scan the latest nie form and the list of requirements and send via pm. If you are moving your life over here, the euros spent on professional advice has to be money well spent. For me and a family of four would have cost a kings ransom for nie process plus we had the help of a fluent local. Patience is required in bucketloads but it is all worthwhile and is character building :)

Thanks for your support, that is very good of you. It is just me on my own so thought it would be pretty straightforward. I am prepared to fly out before the season (February possibly) to get my NIE with no crowds around. However, I do not want to fly over and do this if I need a contract first. Any advice would be most welcome. Thanks.

Why not fly over in Feb (if there is accommodation available) and have a week's fact finding mission/holiday? If there is only you to worry about (ie no kids or spouse etc) then I would go for it..... Could you not take unpaid leave or extended paid leave from your job to "go see"?

All the paperwork for NIE etc sounds longwinded and hard work, and can take time BUT once it's done, that's it, no more! and you're free to get on with it!!! I reckon they've changed the NIE rules to stop loads of people coming over, getting them then not getting jobs and giving up...

I am ateacher so I have a Feb half term. I do not want to spend money on a flight over though if I am just going to be told I cannot get my NIE until I have a contract though.

From what I herd through the Summer you are about right, The problem was 1000`s come over in May and were all getting NIE, A good percentage of those would never work/need it, Now you have to prove you will need it, eg letter from your prospective employer or Solicitor etc for buying property,
"Should" make the whole process a lot easier,,,,,, Yea , It`s Ibiza

What if I came over before the season? Would I get one then even without a contract?
