Friends/neighbours/colleagues ...

.. who aren't into the "clubbing" scene ... what do you think their opinion on Ecstacy / Coke / other clubbing drugs is ? Do you think they're ignorant as to what these drugs actually do ? Do they believe all the media hype ? Have you ever had a discussion with people about clubbing/drugs ?

What do you think they would think of you if they knew you had dabbled in them ?
 
I think people I know still lump coke in with heroin, a throwback from the eighties when these were the hitler and stalin of the drug world. I think most of them see ecstasy as very widespread, and most aren't so naive as to believe that every time someone takes ecstasy they're going to die, but they do see it as a major gateway drug (mainly down to the fact that every junkie on telly always says that's what they started taking - no thought is given to the fact that it's the most widely available for younger people). As for other clubbing drugs, most people I know have never heard of most of them.
 
About half of people I know well, eg. friends/collegues know that I take stuff, and they mainly do as well.

However, the other half completely frown upon drug use and would never speak to us again if they knew (although over the past few weeks we suspect nearly everyone now knows :? )

They are all very naive about the whole scene. We met up with one mate (who only drinks) in Ibiza this year, and all he went on about was all the 'druggies'...not nice to hear when we were on one :lol: ;)

thats exactly what we're gonna get after tonight... "oooh you go on holiday to ibiza, do you ever see any of this horrible stuff going on?"

I don't usually tak about it with people out of the scene or "clean".

Most Pep's friends are not into this and are quite naive about it, but I was the same ten years ago, probably.

In Spain clubbing culture has no good press, but I guess is worst in England, you only hear the media blaming the club scene when a teenager dies in a club after having 7 pills in two hours
 
Yeah, I'm going to get so much crap from my family after tonight. They know I've 'dabbled' before, in all sorts of things over many years, but this is really going to get them worried I think, mainly cos I've always said I do things like that where it's safe (i.e. at home), and that I don't really do them anymore. :roll: It's only cos they care.
 
Since I started taking them, it really opened my eyes up to how widespread it is.My boss came up to me last week and started going on about how good they were...I was completely shocked 8O

Think my other mates suspect that we do anyway now, and it doesnt bother me anymore...its my choice
 
I do wonder what the parents of the children at school would think if they knew their child's dinner lady used to dabbled in class a's. :(

Same here Fergie,

I'm sure 75% of the spanish population smokes joints regularly, actually it's more and more common to see people smoking discretly a joint in the street.
And about exctasy or others it's really widespread and usually the last persone you would imagine going on it is the one you find totally funked in a club 8O :lol:

You can experiment with drugs and be a responsible persone anyway, Saffy. Probably no 100% responsible but... ;)
 
I know silvia .. I'd never ever bring anything into school or talk about it at school ... but some people are so narrow minded that they would be up in arms if they knew. Unfortunately, it's highly likely that within the next few months they will know anyways ... do I leave now or stay till I'm kicked out?
 
I used to think hardly anyone took anything 8O Now I've realised that about 80% of folk I know smoke joints, and about 60% take class A's (oh, maybe I shouldnt have forced them down their necks :? ...just kidding ;) )

Gingerfreak, how did they find out? My Mum would honestly kill me if she ever found out
 
Serious ? Sadly yes. We both stand to lose our jobs/home .. Bit of a shitter really.

Ditto what Fergie said...... given up trying to educate people and now only discuss the above with like minded......
 
Fingers crossed ... and toes ... in fact, we're crossing everything, which makes it particularly uncomfortable to sit down! :)

Saffy - I am so so sorry to hear this, hopefully whatever has happened isnt as bad as you first think and there will be ways to sort the situation out...... talk to someone as soon as you can to get information on your situation and I hope everything works out for you......

A friend of mine recently got into trouble, feared the worst (her family finding out was her own personal nightmare) but after a bit of chatting to the right people, she got away with a slap on the wrist and a good talking too!!
