What happened? Why the hell was it on national news? 8O So they found drugs in the club, not exactly big news?

Apparently 200 8O armed police raided the place but they only made about 12 arrests which seems a bit of excessive police resource.

The funniest thing was a quote from some policeman in the area which said 'People want to go to Brixton to have a good time, they don't want to go to places where there are going to be people peddling drugs'

Why else do you go to Brixton

Weeks of undercover planning. I think they were after two or three dealers in particular and they got someone in north london during the day before the raid. They raided the place at 11.30pm when only 130 people in the place so its quite obvious they had specific targets. There were 200 police involved including undercover police inside the club. It was on national tv and papers as the bbc had obviously been tipped off about it.
I was down at the Fridge on Sunday night (night after) and it was open as usual but there were a few olice hanging around outside.

What sort of the reception did the police get when they arived?

On Sunday? No marked reception from people.
There were rumours going around Vauxhall all day that the Orange event at the Fridge was going to be off as the club was not allowed open but that was bullsh1t. But most people expected police to be there and were being ultra-careful. ;)
