Liam Wilson

Liam1.jpg

Manchester based DJ Liam Wilson, is one of the most exciting up and coming DJ/Producer/Engineers in the industry. Liam has performed on a regular basis across the north of England for over three years now, appearing alongside the biggest artists in the game and at some of the biggest events. Now securely a regular DJ at the massive Goodgreef and Fire It Up, and already often performing alongside Eddie Halliwell, Judge Jules, Simon Patterson, Giuseppe Ottaviani, John O'Callaghan, Jon O'Bir, Greg Downey and many more, it's undeniable his performances haven't gone un-noticed. Over the past couple of years Liam has thrown himself into the studio and got to grips with the production side of things. Already with tracks out on Goodgreef Digital and now signed to Recover World, you will see his tracks flying out this summer on Slinky, Exposure and the massive Kill The Lights, as well as various engineering projects for other artists! Quoted by Barry Almond (Goodgreef's promoter) as “A future star” it doesn't seem long before this guy hits the mainstream!

Kate Remington
Kate.jpg

Kate Remington is an aspiring female DJ with passion and talent in equal measures.
Her love affair with dance music started at the tender age of 11, when she would save her pocket money to buy Hardcore tape packs.
1999, saw Kate's introduction to the clubbing scene, watching Paul Oakenfold, at the Mezzanine, Wolverhampton, and she has been a dedicated festival and club goer ever since.
Her more personal involvement started at the age of 19, when she bought a set of turntables, and started to build up an impressive vinyl collection, initially playing mainly Hard-House and Hard-Trance.
In the last couple of years, Kate has played predominately Trance with a Techno edge.
She lists her influences as Markus Schulz, Mark Simz, Bart Claessen, Paul Oakenfold, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, BK, Andy Farley and Dave Clarke.
Kate had a stonking start to playing out in clubs, with an incredible opening set at Rong in May!! Watch this space!!

Tom Noone
Tom.jpg

Tom is by far no stranger to the upcoming talent list in the Trance scene.
His musical versatility in playing anything from Tech and Progressive House in his warm up sets building and working a crowd to the more “floaty” side of Euphoric Trance sound right through to harder Tech Trance in the closing hour is a skill that few DJs have.
This skill had seen his popularity grow over the years and set him up an ever-growing fan base that he has impressed with his seamless mixing skills, enthusiasm and 100 per cent dedication and commitment to his talent. Recently Tom has appeared on the bill for some high profiled Trance events across the UK in Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds and Birmingham to name a few places and is currently making progress on his debut track titled 'Pangea' in the studio alongside Dave Dempsey.

Showdown DJ's
Showdown2.jpg

Phil & Kiz got to know each other through their love of trance music via the interactive forum on anjunabeats.com, and finally met in March 2005 at a Gatecrasher classics event in London and other various clubbing events.

Since then they have never looked back and started DJing together before forming showdown in early 2007. The monthly radio show (Showdown Sessions) soon followed and is getting more & more listeners every month.

They have gone from strength to strength with a couple of high profile gigs for London based promotions Peach, LoveDJ and Knowwhere with the highlight being featuring on the same lineup as PVD @ Koko! They can also regularly be seen at Traffic! in Plymouth.x

The future for showdown is to keep our driving & uplifting trance style alive and one day get into producing our own tunage! We are also in the process of planning a new clubnight so watch this space...

Dave Gurnhill
Dave.jpg

Dave Gurnhill has already made a great impression on the local Trance scene, from back in 2009 when he became resident at the weekly Trance event Statik in Sheffield. Over the last few years, Dave got the opportunity to play at some of the North's biggest Trance nights such as Off The Rails, Amplified, Chaos Theory, Noize, and DS. These events allowed him to play on the same lineups as some of the biggest names in the business such as Giuseppe Ottaviani, John Askew and Will Holland. Dave has also been seen on many occasions warming up the night at “The Howard” in Sheffield for event pre parties including Off The Rails and the mighty Gatecrasher.

John Dopping

John.jpg

It has been one year since John's initial release on the Digital Society / Enhanced Recordings imprint, and in that time his work as a producer has become increasingly recognised amongst the industry's most prominent figures.

John's music is heard in clubs by international audiences and appears on Armin's "A State of Trance", Tiesto's "Club Life" and Paul Van Dyk's "VONYC Sessions" radio broadcasts, and has gained several "Track of the Week" listings on Sean Tyas' "Tytanium Sessions" podcast. But he is best known in the scene for his off-label bootleg remixes such as the heavily supported "John Dopping Rahmix" of Massive Attack's popular single "Teardrop".

Andy Anderson
Andy.jpg

After discovering Trance music at college back in its heyday at the turn of the century, he bought his decks at the age of 18.
Flirtations with the harder side of Trance and even Hard house expanded on what he has eventually seen himself return to (and I quote) - ‘anything between 125-145bpm that is either interesting to listen to or has a catchy melody/baseline'.
After getting his break in 2009 and having the opportunity to promote and DJ his own 6 hour marathon sets in his home town of S****horpe, another break came in 2010 when he was asked to play for DS Invitiation.
At Future: Forward Pt 2, expect as much energy behind the decks from Andy dancing around as there is from the dance floor - you have been warned!

Brenden Haith
Brendan.jpg

Brendan's interest in Dance music started at a time when sub genres weren't really as categorical as they are now. Dance was just dance really! But it was a few years down the line when the genre evidently started to progress into bigger better things, he discovered the beasts that are Trance and Progressive House.
Listening to mix CD's and reading popular well known clubbing magazines as a young gun helped drill into him what it was all about. Seeing the clubs, clubbers and hearing their stories, digging for records, finding out what the new tunes coming out were and learning more and more about the music helped Brendan define, learn and master what it is he does today, which isn't just DJ, but entertain and create atmospheres in rooms full of people all there for the one thing that evidently brings us all together – Trance!

Samuel Lamont
Sam-1.jpg

Since falling in love with the dance scene of the mid 90's and his 1210's, Samuel Lamont has evolved with musical genres, allowing himself to be flexible, spontaneous and invigorating to whichever dance floor he plays. From the mid 90's House days where Sam first picked up his residency at Trax in his local town of Hitchin, it was clear Sam had found his niche with his turntables. The Trance explosion of the late 90's saw him attend the Superclubs of the North each week whilst promoting and DJing small nights across the city of Liverpool. Emulating the likes of Paul Oakenfold & Sasha taught Sam the expression of melody and emotion within music and that has been eminent throughout his DJing career.

A Summer working in Ibiza in 2001 provided International experience, playing in a string of bars on the island. It was Sam's move to Leeds in 2002 when his DJ career raised a level. Taking influences from Ibiza, Sam was soon fusing Melodic Trance with Balearic House and resulted in two midweek residencies at two of the most respected venues in the city, Space and Mission. This led to a Saturday night backroom residency at Mission, playing on the same billing as the likes of Leama and Moor, Rob Tissera and Matt Hardwick.

Later that year Sam saw a gap in the market for Progressive House in Leeds and co promoted a monthly night called 'Quality Connects' at the Mint Club and became the main resident DJ playing alongside Lexicon Avenue, Greg Vickers and Nick Warren to name but a few.

Andy Crosson
AndyC-1.jpg

Andy brings almost 8 years of experience with him where in that time he has played for and seen residencies with brands such as Radio One, Progress and Gatecrasher to name but a few.

His ties with electronic music have evolved through this period which sees him drawing influence from many genres and artists alike. This sees him honing his talents as a Blank resident with the ability to adapt to playing at any time of the night, following the non-categorised ethic of Blank.

Ian Wire
Ian.jpg

Ian Wire first got into the Underground Dance scene at the end of the 90's frequenting the Mecca of Electronic Dance Music: Gatecrasher in Sheffield, where he became a weekly regular. The Sound and the atmosphere of the Progressive, Trance & Techno scene around this golden era has influenced Ian Wire's musical direction ever since.
As the Co-founder of a new Underground Classic Trance Club “Plasma Future” Ian Wire is looking to bring the Big Party feeling back into dance Music.
Expect to hear Driving Progressive, peak-time Techno, underground Classic Trance with a Futuristic /Space Age vibe that Ian knows can really whip up a crowd, alongside hidden gems from a time when Trance & Electronic based Music ruled the world.

Mark Brown
Mark-1.jpg

Mark Brown is resident at Plasma Future as well as part of the promotion team. Dance music has been a big influence in Mark's life for as long as he can remember. From the age of 11, listening to 2 Unlimited, to high school where he would record the Essential Mix religiously. Mark would be listening to the likes of Sasha, Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox whilst his peers would be listening to the generic pop music of the time.
Mark's first experience of the club scene was the day after his 17th birthday, attending Gatecrasher at Don Valley stadium on millennium eve. From this point he was hooked. Like fellow resident “Ian Wire” Mark then attended Gatecrasher at the Republic and soon became a regular at the steel city's weekly shindig.
Marks main influences include: Judge Jules whose weekly Radio 1 show played a big part in introducing Mark to Trance music, Scott Bond whose sets from Gatecrasher, for Mark, really embodied the “Crasher” sound, Tiësto who's dark sounding Techno/Trance style from around 2000-2003 is a key influence on the sound Mark aims for, and M.I.K.E whose futuristic sounding remixes and productions really epitomise the Plasma Future sound.
If it's real, futuristic Trance productions, with those lost space age sound samples you miss and crave from back in the day then Mark Brown's DJ set is not to be missed & will be a perfect close to the evening.

DJ Plasma
Plasmacopy-1.jpg

DJ Plasma's tough, haunting progressive sound encapsulates what Plasma Future is all about. A disciple of the UK trance scene at its best, he fears that the real underground sound of that age could be lost. Shunning what is 'cool' DJ Plasma wishes only to share his passion for music with other clubbers in the proper place. The dancefloor.
