Hi all, for anyone planning a clubbing weekend in Dublin, I just got this mail from POD/Redbox. Really top line ups over the next 6 weeks and add to that Timo maas, Eric morillo etc at Spirit. Now is the the time to hit Dublin.
The Summer is officially over but Redbox is keeping the heat turned up for Autumn by delivering to the Dublin Scene some of the hottest Friday nights with the best international acts including some Irish debuts. We have already been warmed up nicely with two really great sets from Slam in August and Jon Carter last week.
This Friday Sept 12th sees the welcome return to Dublin of LAYO AND BUSHWACHA for their ALL NIGHT LONG album launch with huge hype already building on this show. Layo ; “We don’t get over to Dublin that often, but really look forward to it when we get the chance. Dublin has always been good to us in the past!“
This show is then followed by one of Dublin’s all time favourites, Global Underground and Way Out West hero, NICK WARREN, on Sept 26th. Nick has built up a massive loyal following in Dublin over the years and always manages to create quite a stir.
Following Nick we have possibly the biggest clubbing weekend of the year with two of the hottest acts this year playing on the same weekend, kicking off with JUNIOR JACK & KID CRÉME on Friday Oct 3rd for their IRISH EXCLUSIVE. These two artists are probably the most sought after djs on the house scene at the moment leaving dance floor destruction in their wake everywhere they go. Junior Jack up to now has been best known for his monster tune Thrill Me, but has managed to supercede this with the track that is ripping up the dance floors in all the holiday Hotspots this Summer, E Samba which will have its full release and probably hit the top of the charts just in time for the show. This is a much anticipated show and is one that should not be missed.
On top of this, the following night it’s the BIG ONE as we welcome GROOVE ARMADA for a one off special LOVEBOX party on Saturday 4th Oct. This will be an Access All Areas event with the GROOVE ARMADA boys taking over the three rooms with their unique show which includes some very special surprises and has sold out in every location to date and would definitely be worthy of grabbing an advance ticket. TICKETS ALREADY SELLING FAST FOR THIS ONE.
Once you have recovered from all that and feel you are still up for more, Gspot in association with Redbox presents another IRISH DEBUT, in the form of FUNKATRON man, ROBBIE RIVERA. Robbie is one of the biggest producers of quality house music for the last decade and we are really excited to finally get this man to the Redbox ones and twos on Friday 10th October. Support on the night with come in the form of none other that 2FM’s CONOR G.
Then its preparations for the Bank Holiday weekend with a very EXCLUSIVE show, TIM DELUXE – LIVE. Tim has selected only 6 venues in the world to do his much anticipated live show with Redbox being very proud to be one of them. The show coincides with the launch of Tim’s new album and includes vocalist, Sam Obernick, Terra Diva and Ben Onono live on stage along with percussion and instrumentals with Tim spinning behind the decks. Tim’s laid all the ground work in Dublin with his previous shows getting rave reviews all round and his popularity has constantly grown over the last 2 year to leave him up there with the best acts to visit Dublin. This will the only time on the current album tour that this ONE OFF SHOW will be witnessed in Ireland, so if you like it funky, don’t miss this.
