No, Dan, I did not know. I didn't watch the opening ceremony... and my memory of the games I watched 12 years ago isn't that good anyway.

This has happened on several occasions: you keep "reading between the lines" in what I wrote when there's nothing between the lines. All I said was that I misread the initial question.... and I'm more than willing to admit that if I had read it correctly I wouldn't have said anything at all because I didn't know. Now I do... and I thank you for that ;)
