Hello all, I have read all 72 pages on this forum and I have a specifics questions for the club experts. Me and my friend are 30 years old, African-Americans from the USA who have never been to Ibiza. We arrive Thursday and leave Sunday afternoon.

1) Is Amnesia the only Foam party in town b/c we leave Sunday evening.

2) We are staying in San Antonio Bay...any party suggestions? I've read good things about Amnesia "Cream" and "Cocoon" parties. But have read mixed reviews of the Es Paradis' Water Party.

We like House music but American House music is different than house music in clubs I visited in London and Italy. So it is hard to decide which clubs. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

I'm also black and from the US (and just hit 32. yikes!) but I have to tell you that it makes no difference on Ibiza. On the island, we're all in this together.

Before anyone can recommend anything, you've got to tell us what kind of music you like. There's variety, whether you're in the US, London or Italy... progressive, vocal/funky, hard house/trance, etc. Also, which week are you coming in June? If it's early in the month, your choices are limited. My group is flying in June 17 for 10 days to hit the choice opening parties... my 4th visit!

In the US, hard house and hip hop was about all I could find last time I was home in DC. If you're into hard house, I think you'll enjoy Cream at Amnesia. I personally will be heading to Pacha on Thursdays for Deep Dish (from DC!) & guests... progressive stuff.

If you like stylish funky/vocal house, then Friday's Defected at El Divino is a must. I missed it last year but many raved about it as the best new party and I'm looking forward to it.

I'd round off your trip back at Pacha for DefMix on Saturday (or Belearic People at Privelege) and then We Love Sundays at Space on your final morning before crawling back to the hotel to grab your bags on the way to the airport.

Don't worry if a club is in Ibiza Town. It's a 15 minute drive from San Antonio and there's bus and taxi service.

I'm personally not a big fan of the foam and water parties... I think it just gets messy. Es Paradis used to do foam as well as water, I believe, but not any more according to the party calendar.

Thanks so much for the quick response. I like Hip Hip and House like Old School, Farley Jack Master Funk and "Jack My Body" and "God-father of House Music" etc...but I am versatile. I like Jazz, R&B, Down Home Blues, Reggae, we are gonna be in Spain so some native music would be nice.

I checked out the sample music for Deep House and House on the Clubbing section and I was jammin so I think it's all gravy.

We get in Thursday June 16th, one day before you land. I like the suggestions you listed. I had looked at those as well. But like I said, we have no way of knowing how to choose and ordinarily we go Club Hopping from club to club, but not for 30-50 Euro a pop.

I read a lot of travel books that dog the Foam Parties....so we may skip it. We can always get soaked on the Beach. I am sure we will have a blast.

If it's your first time I would check out as many different clubs as you can, cos Pacha normally has the pick of the line-ups it's easy to spend most nights a week there but I would try and sample as many clubs as you can.

The listings aren't complete yet but I would def check out Pacha, Space (for a Carry On if there's one on), Amnesia, maybe El Divinos. Unfortunately you'll miss DC10 cos that's only open Mondays but then that's an excuse to come back next year ;) I'd avoid the clubs in San Antonio (Eden and Es Paradis) cos they attract a younger British beerboy crowd.

Def check out a sunset in San An (try Khumaras if you're staying in San An Bay and you want something a bit more Ibizan than the sunset strip) and make sure you spend time @ Bora Bora in PDB, it's a free beach bar that goes off every day from mid afternoon til midnight.

:D

This has been added to my part-aay schedule. Thank so much.
I just posted a Q ...on the General Q & A forum list regarding food. So if you have any ideas on that please see that posting.

I know this one is strickly Clubs and I am a firm believer in following the rules.

Thanks again. See ya in Ibiza

Barbie I agree with everything you say but 'more ibizian' than Cafe Del Mar?

:?: ;)

Khumaras is a lot more Spanish and hippyish imo.

I've always thought Kumharas has a more Indian/Eastern feel/theme and CDM was built about 15 years before it.

Theres usually a bit more activity at Kumharas but if your just going to see the sunset then both are equally fantastic.

And I can't wait Babs ;)

:D

I forgot to mention the sunset in San Antonio... a definite must-see on your first visit. I personally like sitting in Cafe Mambo (touristy and crowded, but good view) with top DJs spinning pre-party music and setting the mood as the sun goes down.

If you want to see a funny, slightly cheesy video I did of my 3rd Ibiza visit last year, complete with sunset footage, check out www.morbyd.com/films (but only if you've got a high-speed internet connection).

I agree with Barbie about checking out as many different clubs as you can, as you can easily get stuck in a Pacha rut (they have many of the best nights). You're right that club-hopping is usually not an option at 30-50 E per stop! Hard to recommend anything hip-hop/R&B style - Pacha sometimes has it spinning in the side rooms (for example, during Underwater on Tuesdays). I think you'll like the funky house at El Divino. I also agree best to avoid Eden and Es Paradis if possible...

And Playa d'en Bossa, as Barbie noted, is another must-see. It's a nice beach, if crowded, but there's not much more fun than an afternoon listening to good tunes at Bora Bora in a lounge chair on the beach with bar service. When the spirit moves you, you just get up and dance.

We decided to stay in PDB this year after 2 years in quieter Talamanca (across the harbor from Ibiza town) and one in San Antonio.
