So... are they destroying your garden or just buzzing around you head?

Just buzzing around my head, I don't like them and I'm usually fine with creepy crawlies etc.

We had loads on Saturday, had a **** fit in the street as they were all flying into my hair and down my top

The ants are laying eggs now and its horrible - went for a walk with the dog last night and on the old tram tracks where we live they have turned it into a bit of a nature walk - literally we must have had about 50 flying fat ants stuck to us as we walked through a swarm of them - quite foul, I felt physically sick trying to get the little buggers off our clothing - I had to go straight in the bath on getting home in case they were living on me or in my hair..... uuuurrrggghhhhh:twisted:

And did you have any floating in the bath afterwards??

For me jellyfish are the most annoying pest here in Ibiza. We don't seem to get too many mosquitos where I live.

The office has a few enormous cockroaches that don't like it if I'm there at night. I have to kill them with a flip flop.

Have you also noticed there are a lot of them this year? It seems they're hanging out on the west side of the island. We saw tons (and the missus and a couple of our friends all got stung) in places like Cala d'Hort, another beach nearby, and also a bit south of Atlantis. Didn't see any on the south side (PdB, Cala Jondal).

Los Molinos (near D'alt Vila) has been ok. I see an average of one per swim but haven't been stung yet.

Where's the fingers crossed smiley?

Flippin Medusa ruined my first day at Sa Trinxa, really wanted to swim. They were gone a few days later though. :D

In mainland we have mosquito (little flies) and in Ibiza there are Muscats (big flies). I litterally got eaten by muscats in Ibiza and Formentera :?

cockroaches leave their hideout if it's too hot

Urgh dont even get me started on mosquitos!! I am allergic to them and come up in big lumps which turn into blisters if I'm bitten. I've never been bitten in Ibiza before until this year! I found three of the little buggers in our wardrobe and wouldn't rest until I'd splatted each one!

God knows how Im going to survive travelling... I'm going to turn into one big ball of pus!

8O - where are you going travelling? mosquitos are horrible but I found max strength DEET on holiday, although it melts plastic and probably gives you and the environment cancer, works pretty well. They always find a spot though :x (between my toes the buggers!)

also, avoid bananas - mosquitos like it if you eat them for some reason :? 8O

Fiji, Oz, NZ, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and India. Mosquito hotspots I know  I'm just going to take all the drugs I can to fend them off. They seem to love the tase of me for some reason :spank:

there was a news article the other day actually about how some people just attract insects that bite and others don't - based on pheromones or something

I once slept in a tent with the door open (ok, passed out in a drunken stupor) with someone else, I woke up with over 100 bites (in things like lines up my body as they crawled up biting as they went) whilst my friend had about 3. :x .
