Fish question!

There must be some people here that know about food:

I bought a fresh Sea Bream on Saturday (yum!) and put it in my ice compartment till today (5 days) - got it out of freezer to thaw this morning, and got a call on the way to work forcing me to go out for drinks this eve.

If I put it back in the fridge when I get home, will it be alright to eat tomorrow?

I'm thinking yes because it's fresh and it had that stint in the freezer but it's almost a week and I don't want to make myself vomit fish for days.

Thanks.

It's on the side thawing for tonight...want to put it back in the fridge when I get home and eat it tomorrow.

 I think I've told about a million people about my very important fish dilemma this morning.

 I was confused cos you mentioned the freezer and the fridge but not where the poor little fishie was now - I was thinking for a minute it was on your desk at work with you

Personally I wouldn't put something back in the fridge when it's been out defrosting all day esp fish - plus it's going to be 25 degrees in London today which can't be good for raw fish :?

Blimey what a dilemma to start the day with

I know! I'm tearing myself apart at the thought of having wasted £4 on a bit of fish...I think that says a lot about my attitude to money doesn't it?

I'm actually wearing the fish around London today.

It looks a bit like this:

give it a whiff and if it smells nice...like a fish should smell and not like beth dittos gash after 4days without a shower at Glastonbury....it's ok!!!

how are you cooking it?

may I reccomend fileting it then scoring the skin side and lightly frying in some browned butter for a couple of mins each side...then....remove and use ther butter as a sauce to spoon over it....quick squeeze of lemon juice...sprig of parsley....bosh!!! :D

Try a little piece of fish on a cat (if you have a cat); if your fish is not ok, the kitten will not eat it.
