Figueretas- help

hi i am going to Figueretas (staying in 'Apartments Playa sol 2')with some mates in August and i was just wondering whether people had stayed there before and they could tell me what it is like. also can anyone recomend any decent clubs which wont cost a fortune as we are all on a tight budget. thanx

i stayed opposite at the Jabeque appartments, Playa Sol 2 looked fine, perfectly good accom.

things to check out would be the pool parties in the daytime just a little bit (bout 2 min) down the road at Es Vive hotel.. stuff like Hed Kandi and Miss Moneypennys there and cheaper club - check maybe Amnesia on a sturday nite - its free entry (at least was last week!) or maybe El Divino in ibiza town - is only 25 euro entry.

Enjoy mate - btw - Princes retaurant at the end of the road (figurettas end on the promanarde) does excellent and well priced food.

I'm staying in the Jabeque next month - any tips?

yeah, if you stay in room 312, be careful of the oven, i burnt the inside of it with a pizza, sorry. 8)

saving that, make a trip at least one day to Formentura - boats pick up on the prom in figurettas and in playa d'bossa. only 15 euro.

also if you cant be bothered to walk into ibiza town at night, here's a good tip - upon leaving the appartments, turn left, go straight down the road and past the posh hotel at the end. follow it down the little alleyway towards the beach at playa d'bossa. (about 5 min walk from the appartments). you should see some boats on your left hand side, with a lttle jetty sticking out to sea. ferry boats leave there every 30 min (on the hour and half past) to Ibiza town, right through to 1am...ignore the poster that says it finishes at midnight (it starts at 9am btw). it's 3 euros per person and great fun when you are getting thrown about in the sea. its also safer than walking into town late at night if there is only a couple of you.

You must definately do Bora-Bora :!: Very good music and nice crowd - and it is free. A couple of minutes walk from your hotel. Everyday from 6pm to 12pm.

Then you can do Manic Mondays@Somny. You can get free pass from Bora-Bora after closing (12pm). Walking distance also. I just can recommend monday...haven´t been there any other night.

If you keep your eyes open you can get invitations to Space too. Then you pay just half the price. Except Sundays when you can´t get invitations but if you go there before 10am you can get 25 euros discount from normal price. You can take discobus to Space or walk.

Then there is Circo-Loco@DC-10 on Mondays. Best time to go is after 4pm. Tickets are cheap (maybe 25 euros each). It´s short distance from Figueretas but if you don´t know where it is - take a taxi. It will cost you just 5 euros.

These are your value for money options from Figueretas 8)

Would you say it's not very safe walking back from Ibiza Town at night?

Myself and my boyfriend were planning on doing this as we got so fed up waiting for taxis or the disco bus back to Playa D'en Bossa last year.

Clara, most of the time me and Tom walk to and from Ibiza Town from Figueretes, I love walking in Ibiza and we've always felt perfectly safe and normally met a few randoms on the way home ;)

well, i never got any hassle this year at all, but just like anywhere, you just have to play it safe.

we walked back from ibiza town about 1am two nights and they were fine, it only takes about 20-25 min to get back to the appartments from the main area of bars in ibiza town. just make sure you dont take too many shortcuts down quiet streets in figurettas and i'm sure your be fine.

(to be honest the only reason i was taking the boat was because when i was in ibiza two years ago someone tried to mug me and that time i was there with 5 other blokes - this year was just with my girlfriend and didnt want to tempt anything like that again. it happened in playa d'bossa near Bora Bora though at about 4am, so it was probably me just being stupid being there!)

Nice one! 8)

Stayed at Playa Sol 2 this year and a couple of years ago too.
Great base for your holiday: Ibiza Town is just 15-20 minutes walk, as is Space and Bora Bora.
Apartments are cleaned daily, most have great sea views.
Try asking for sea view when you check in.
Swimming pool isn't much, but the sun bathing decks right by the sea is pretty cool.
Enjoy!

I would recommend caution walking to figurettas from ibiza town late at night - have had 2 occasions when the locals tried to beat us up - we legged it ! (I'm a right pussy I know !!) lol

How did you walk? Over the Avenguido[sp?] D'Espanya?

You'll be fine. We always took the "tunnel" route which is the short cut and we where fine: mind you I am a bit of a stocky lad.
Take the main road if you're really worried, but you're adding 10-15 minutes to your journey.
If you're really worried, a taxi won't cost you that much on your return journeys.
Leave the bulk of your money in your deposit box at the apartment.
