Ferries and customs

Hi all

Have a couple of queries that I am hoping to get some answers to.

1> My partner is returning with our van soon and we have NIE numbers. I have been told that we can get discounted ferry fares. Do you know how to tap into this and how to go about it?

2. Also as he is moving some furniture and tools for his business out here, are there any customs implications for example; does he need to produce a detailed inventory of all goods at certain points during the journey?

He is getting the Portsmouth - Santander ferrry, driving to Barcelona and then ferry across to Ibiza. Any other points to remember would be greatly appreciated.

an nie number only entitles you to residents' discount if you have a residents' certificate as well
no customs in europe if it's your own stuff.

To get the discount on the ferries you have to have the little green certificate thingy that you get from the police station.... It says you're resident here, an NIE number doesn't give you any discounts!
