I don't really care about our selection, they always are supposed to be the best team ever and they always crash in a pathetic styleeee. Best thing of selection is hearing the matches on the radio, specially the very españolistas ones

Sil, just out of interest, do you actually want spain to do well in tournaments? I know a few Catalans that dont. I think ive told you before that im probably in the minority in that im a Barca fan that really wants Spain to win. I think its to do with being born here and living in London all my life.

Even being a brave culé a don't want the worst for Espanyol, for example, and that's something that most of my friends don't understand and I get bullied by them cos I don't clap hands when Espanyol looses a match I'm nationalist but understanding this like a feeling of cultural identity. You know Spain, a catalan has nothing to see with a Gallego and a Basc has nothing to see with an Extremeño. I want to feel free to express myself in my own language, on my own culture and on my own traditions. In my opinion the cultural diversity of Spain is one of our best thing and I can't understand people who things that this diversitiy is a menace for the integrity of Spain, it's such a franquista idea
What really annoys me is that the old spain seems to feel menaced only by catalans or bascs while there's other autonomy with own language, own culture, own tradition. Of course, our autonomic governement doesn't help too much to solve this.
And after such a boring speach...
About the selections, I find them boring, even the Catalan, cos they are not real teams that spend a year playing together and it's quite obvious on the games to me. Also, I only know two or three players and that makes it less interesting still. I do follow a bit basketball selection cos I know much more players, in the spanish and other selections.

Im glad youre not a big extremist when it comes to these things . I mean I totally understand what youre saying about each region having its own traditions and being allowed to keep them. Like you say, thats what makes Spain so diverse.
I dont have a problem with any region having their own team, it's when some people say they want Catalunya to have their own league that worries me. I dont think it would help Barcelona in the long term to play in a such a weak league.
I know what you mean about Spains National team, im much more interested when Xavi or Puyol plays.. I dont know why Raul keeps getting picked when he's been so poor for so long. I stil really like players like Vicente or Joaquin. Its also nice to see Spain play in big tournaments, would love to go to Germany next year. 8)

And remember, if anyone tells you that if you are in Catalunya and you ask something in spanish you'll get answed in catalan or you get bullied is not true, that's an urban legend

Vicente plays on the left wing. I think its funny that England can't find a left winger and yet Spain has 3 very decent players for the same position: Vicente, Reyes and Luque
