I have received this message on my work e-mail. To say i shat myself at my desk is an understatement, even though i can think of no illegal websites i've visited!!

from FBI@fbi.gov

Dear Sir/Madam,
we have logged your IP-address on more than 40 illegal Websites.
Important: Please answer our questions!
The list of questions are attached.
Yours faithfully,
M. John Stellford

anyway, anti-virus kicked in when i went to open the attachment so i went to www.fbi.gov to see if it's the genuine site address and saw this warning on the homepage!

DON'T BE FOOLED BY SO-CALLED "FBI EMAILS" THAT ASK YOU TO OPEN AN ATTACHMENT. Read all about this new virus-laden scam. As a policy, the FBI never sends out unsolicited emails. And if you get one of these bogus emails, please report it to the Internet Crime Complaint Center at http://www.ic3.gov.

Phew!!

That'd be enough to have me sh***ing in my pants.

Sounds like some hackers are "spoofing" an FBI email address. You'd think they could come up with something more creative that fbi@fbi.gov though!

In general, never a good idea to open an attachment unless you know the sender or can clearly identify the type of file.

I may like young men but only legal ones thank you please!

;)

boring then!

Besides, unless you're on American soil or an American citizen, all the FBI can do is tell your government what's up. Not like they would spend the time on some dude looking up lolita porn 6 time zones away when they could use that time to catch a drug smuggler or something else.
