Having been to Dubai 3 times i can safely say it is very cosmopolitan and is indeed now a world city,it'll also have the most skyscrapers anywhere in the world soon enough, In Dubai you have a massive gap between rich and poor, you have your Jumeriah Janes (Dubai slang for rich/posh) having brunch in the Al Burj Arab Hotel discussing Roberto Cavalli's latest line, and how a good nanny is hard to find thesedays
then you have your Indian/Pakistani migrant worker, slaving it out in 47 degree heat for 6 dollars a day but somehow the system works well and everyone seems blissfully happy although im not that's not always the case but anytime ive been there it seems like that, of course you have some people just earning a decent enough wage as well enough to get by, but it's gone so expensive thesedays, especially property you need to be earning good money to live a good life there, but id still move over there in a flash if i could get a decent job which is easier said than done.
