That Lost programme, Tom really likes it but he's missed a few with hols and that and I want to get him the full series for Christmas from my mum and dad. I've looked on Amazon etc and they've only got the first half of it on DVD available from end of Oct, will the second half be released on DVD before Christmas??

Thankyouuuu xx

Can't really help, but I'd assume that the whole series would be available for the Christmas rush.

BTW, loving the sig  ;)

Exactly, conversation in Space should be limited to 'Hiiii', 'What nights have you been to/what nights are you going to??', 'Are you having a good time', 'Do you want a sniff', 'You know what I funking love you mate' etc etc etc  ;)

Let me know if you're down in FLT, we could schedule a post-interview spritzer purely on the grounds of discussing your career ;)

u can get the WHOLE SEASON 1 for £40.

oh and make sure yr DVD player can play region 1 dvds

Thanks Chewie :D

Just one question, what does region 1 mean and how will I know if our DVD player can play region 1 DVDs, I've never even used our DVD player :?

In order to make more money off of us, the DVD Forum (industry group that set the standards a decade+ ago) came up with a brilliant idea when the format was released: region coding.

Basically, they've divided the world into 5 regions. DVDs and DVD players sold in any country will usually be coded to that country's region. Region 1 is North America. Europe is in Region 2.

The way to get around this idiocy is if you have a multi-region DVD player.

My DVD player was originally coded for Region 2... not sure why, since I bought it in Russia and Russia is in a different region... (Region 5 I think, though most DVDs sold here are pirate and therefore not region coded!) Anyway, I found a file on the Internet that helped me hack my player so that it's now multi-region 8)

Thanks for explaining that in Babs proof lingo Morbyd  ;)

So shall I assume ours is a Region 2 one then :?

My pleasure ;)

You might want to double-check. It's possible you bought a multi-region player, though usually that only happens if you specifically look for one.

In my case, I asked the sales guy if it was multi-region before I bought it... but he lied. When I got home and tried to play an American DVD, I was unpleasantly surprised. Thank god there's hackers out there on the 'net though

Babs - Just had an idea... tell me the make and full model number of your player and I'll find out for you.

My mum and dad bought us it and I doubt they're familiar with region 1 and region 2 thingys

I think it's prob best for me to wait for it to be released in UK, if I start trying to hack things I'll only end up breaking the DVD player and then Tom will put me in the n_____c_______  8O

u can try doing a google search for a krack to unlock yr DVD player.

some can be unlocked by entering a code off the remote. some you'll need a geek to sort out for ya.

eg. google

(Enter your model name and number) multi-region crack

That's exactly what I did.

In my case, you had download the file, burn it onto a CD, stick it in the player, hold down one of the buttons on the player for a minute, and then cross your fingers as you watch the player reload its firmware (the internal software that tells it how to operate).

It was pretty easy, actually.
