FAO people who know about technology and Lost

Tom loves Lost but since it moved to Sunday nights, Sundays aren't good nights for us cos we're normally still out from the night before  and of the 6 they showed before Christmas he missed about 4 of them.

He said the series is starting again next month so he really wants to see the ones he's missed. We are both clueless when it comes to matters technological but I remember people saying they downloaded :? them or something.

Any ideas to get me some good wifey points

I use BitTorrent. I PMed Grego a brief tutorial on it recently. If I can find it, I'll forward it to you.

Yes - Try these sites for lost episodes;

www.isohunt.com
www.mininova.org
www.thepiratebay.org.

You will need a torrent program installed on your pc - I use bittornado which is a free download (http://bittornado.com/)
Download and install the program, then go to one of the above sites and do a search for the episodes you want. Once you have located them you just need to click on the download link and choose the destination folder on your pc. Once downloaded the episodes can be watched on your pc or burnt as vcd on a writeable disc so you can watch them on your dvd player.
Sounds a lot more complicated than it is - honestly!

utorrent is a better program, imh(but correct)o.

Isohunt was down as of this weekend. Their internet provider cut them off, but they're in the process of moving to Canada now.

It's mininova.org (n in place of m).

I find btjunkie and torrentspy to be better than thepiratebay.

Thanks for that John - I spotted the mininova mistake and edited it. Haven't tried utorrent but a few people have shouted it's praises.

Also haven't tried the two sites that you mention so will have a look at them, but I generally find whatever I need on the ones I mentioned

If I understood Babs correctly, Tom needs future episodes not past ones.

Forgot to mention, usually episodes show up on torrents a few hours (max 1 day) after the show airs in the US. That means you can download and watch before they appear in the UK (or Russia, for that matter!) :D It comes on Wednesday nights in the US.

It's past ones he needs - in England (don't know if it's same in Russia) they have shown the first 6 episodes from the new series and it's those he is missing. Does that make sense or am I just confusing myself and everyone else further  :?

Ah, oops...ya... just re-read that. Sorry  Ya, in the States they've only shown those first 6 as well (not sure here... don't watch the Russian version )

Those are already available online, of course... but anyway, what I mentioned above still goes so when the new ones start on Feb 7.

Ive tried so many times to download things with these fancy torrent things and am completely useless at it....  .....I only have ever managed to download a song from Limewire and that was a mission in itself....

If like me...find a friend that is a download whizz!

I get you ;) Tom says thanks :D

I don't even know how to download music   Even my dad knows how to download music, I'm like one of these old bints who can't embrace technology
