Fao Morbyd and Chelsea fans...

Must say that i thought it was indeed Chelsea's worst game for a long long time and they didn't deserve to take anything out of it.

I did find that the Betis players went down at the slightest touch but then remembered that we've got Drogba in our side and so can't exactly moan about that sort of thing

It might be a timely reminder to Chelsea that they need to stay focused and hopefully Man U will feel the backlash on Sunday 8)
Fully agree.

The 2nd half time wasting and lack of ball boys on the sidelines were also aggravating, but Jose was right to say that Betis deserved the win.

Bring on Man U

Haha, they say the Real test of any team in form, is how they deal with their first loss.

Look at Arsenal, did their 49 match unbeaten streak, but then when they lost first of all (at mAN u), they didn't win for their next half a dozen games, then they practically went in reverse, and now they are nothing.

Chelsea LOST to CHARLTON, and now they too are buckling under the pressure. Real Betis eh? Hardly threatening any bookies with their European aspirations.

Face it Morbyd, Chelsea have had their time, and now Jose needs to dip into the transfer market AGAIN to save this team from next seasons mid-table.

Even with seemingly unlimited money, they will never be a team of greatness. Granted, they'll have a few good, maybe even great, seasons, but they'll never be no Man Utd or Real Madrid. There's no legacy there.

PLUS we still haven't seen the team go through the INEVITABLE team fall-out when players on 60k a week are asking questions why they are not playing. They can sit in silence when you are winning, but how much longer can they stay quiet when you are losing?

I'm not saying it's the end for Chelsea, just remember to enjoy whilst it lasts.

And, as a yank, living in Russia, I still don;t know how you can be so worked up about an ENGLISH football team? I have a feeling you've explained this before, so feel free to just provide a link if you want.

But really, what does it really matter to you whether they win or lose?

I'm just being curious here.

Being a Spurs fan, our teams ups and downs merely give me bragging rights on a saturday evening and Monday morning.

You have a heart attack when they lose, like you've owned a season ticket for the last 100 years!

Chill out, it's unhealty!

i quite like Mourinho.

never serious in anything he says, and good to see someone getting up Wengers tits without losing it.

I love how you guys are sounding the death knoll for Chelsea after one loss on penalties in the Carling Cup and another 0-1 away in Spain, which come in the midst of a 40-game unbeaten streak in the Premiership.

Keep dreaming. If anything, this past week will only make the team stronger.

dw151174 - we'll see who's gloating come Sunday night

x-amount - not going to get into it, my friend. I'm sure there's plenty more Brits who get more worked up than I do.

Don't think we'll need much from the transfer market given the caliber of players we got. 7 of 50 players nominated for the Ballon d'Or play in Blue 8)

Chelsea have had there short bursts of brilliance over their history (teams led by captains like Bentley in the 50s or Osgood in the 70s, and the FA Cup/European successes of the late 1990s) but nothing sustained like Man U, Real, Milan. Thing is, that's all about to change  This time, it's long-term. A fact which draws the ire of all those throughout Europe who are content with the status quo

It was part of a broader time-wasting plan.

But as I mentioned in the other thread, perhaps you should apply. At least it's a job, and you probably barely fit the height/age requirements

Have you ever played Championship Manager (PC based football manager simulator) or similar?
Yes, of course. Hasn't everyone?

Have you ever used the game edit program, or cheated at all?

Y'know, like, give yourself extra money, or put yourself in as a manager of an opposing team, then sell all the players to your team?

all this football talk, yr gonna end up being labelled a boring twat by the board's "classy toilet dwelling burds"

so then john what songs do they sing on the terraces at chelsea,id love to know.?
Well, the classic songs are:
Blue is the Color
Blue Day (usually played on the p.a. system)
One Man Went to Mow

In the stands, people usually sing different songs like:

"Care Free, whever you may be, we are the famous CFC. And we don't give a f***, wherever you may be, 'cause we are the famous CFC"

The new song we sang at the Bolton game was great: "Stand up for the Special One".

Then there's songs for Jose Mourinho, Super Franky Lampard, Joe Cole ("Joe Cole, Joe Cole, he's here, he's there, he's every fookin' where.". People always sang for Tiago because the tune was easy (Volare).

And chants like "Boring boring Chelsea".

Good. A man after my own heart.

Is what Abramovich has done, not similar to playing ChampMan, and cheating to give himself all these millions?

Does every victory (if you can remember any) not just make you feel "empty"?

It's not like it's a real test of a managers, or a players, ability when you can just buy any players you want, is it?

Do you see what I mean? All Chelsea may do in this seaon or next, it's not the same as building a team, the way everyone else does it, is it?

They will never be remembered like the great Man U team of the 90's, or even Arsenal one-season-wonder SuperTeam. Or, for those of you who know about your football before the premiership, the great Spurs team of 60-61.

And now they've started losing!

I bet arrogant Jose never saw this coming! And he's got no ref or anything to blame it on. His team of hired mercenaries got a lesson from a team that showed them the old adage, that money can't buy you everything.

I reckon it's been a while since he's been this embarassed!

"Sign a little player or two..." indeed jose!

(Oh, and if anyone else doubts your exteme knowledge and devotion of Chelsea FC, I found you can use this page (aswell as the others)... http://www.nicholas.harrison.mcmail.com/cfcson10.htm <it's got a load of chants ant the reasons behind them, just incase anyone tries to test you)

Nice web page, but I've been to enough games to know the songs without it :P

As for your diatribe about buying players, hollow victories, whatever. Sounds like typical griping from a Spurs fan whose endured a decade of defeats at the hands of the Blues

I hardly think 2 years of spending on new players is any worse than the many years of spending by Man U, Madrid, Barca, Milan, Inter and Juve. Ya, Arsenal has some homegrown players - because they bought them all at 19 or 20 and put them in the youth program for a year (and almost none of them are English!) For Chelsea, it's been playing catch up... just turns out it was a lot easier to catch up than most of us thought

No, victory is never hollow. You can see the team spirit that Mourinho has created, and he has proven himself as a great manager. Two losses in 3 months doesn't change that!

Chelsea 03-04 and 04-05 will certainly be remembered, and names like Lampard and Terry revered for generations to come. The new academy is already preparing the next generation of talent, so Chelsea 5 years from now will have as many homegrown players as latecomers.

The Blue tide has turned, X-man. Get used to it. It's long term.
