FAO Girlies - Tanning Moisturiser

Sandi, what colour St Tropez Everyday did you use and what colours does it come in?

I usually apply the "normal" St. Tropez tan for two nights running - to get the darker shade - so I presume I get a dark St. Tropez Everyday - yes?

I tried the Dove one and love it. So much better than the Johnsons. Not patchy at all - just a bit smelly 8O It's great for work days.

Oh I'm not sure what shade I got I'll check for you.

I am out on a long awaited night out with the girls Fri was thinking if I bought some today I might be able to "squeeze" in a fake tan but dont think it will work as I couldnt find any today!

I dont usually go in for fake tans because i am very pale and i find that even those branded as light are too fake for me. Ive used st tropez a few times but generally i cant be assed with the application process. i tried the johnsons summer sun light to medium skin and it made me orange and was patchy. Am i just being an imbecile and no applying it properly or have i not found the right product?

The NEW St Tropez should be ok, I have never bought it before cos I cant be bothered either with all the applying cos I am a lazy cow but the new lotion should be ok.

Best one I tried so far is Dove.

Unless you've got really dry skin you should be able to just apply the tanning moisturisers and they should come up streak and patchy-free.

Have you tried the Dove version?? That's a lot better than Johnsons imo.

I think whichever brand you use, it's all about good application. I recently slapped some of the Dove stuff on after a few glasses of wine and next day realised I'd missed out one arm - I had one nice brown hand and one ghostly white one.

For proper fake tan I like those mitts you can get from Boots/body shop. Stops you staining your hand/nails and gives a more even application. If you rub it in well you shouldn't go streaky.

I always use a normal moisturiser first then put the fake one on a bit later on once the first lot had dried. Sounds tricky and annoying but not if your staying in for the night during the week plus it makes sure your definitely moisturised then

Talking of girly stuff has anyone seen that new Shower and Shave stuff by Johnsons? Its BOGOF in Tesco today, its meant to be a nice silky shower cream stuff that is ideal for shaving? Was tempted to buy some to use on my leggies :)

Agreed - it's all in the preparation ;) I never have a problem with St Tropez but after the years I've been using it I've become a dab hand. I think if you exfoliate well beforehand you should have no problem.

Sometimes when I apply it it looks great....the last lot I put on though it looks awful...really patchy....I find that you really have to have a good scrub and exfoliate once in a while for it to stay looking good!:D

And I never use exfoliators with lots of oils in them either otherwise the tan just won't stick 8)

My mum informed me today that she's got me some - my mum buys anything on BOGOF bless her  Let me know what it's like cos she's probably bought 10 cans of it for me

There are 3 types I got the nourishing type, it seems quite good, I guess though its just like shower gel which you can sometimes use to shave anyway (or I do if I run out of "proper" stuff) but it seems quite nice, nice smell and is nice and creamy
