Sign of the times it's just a master piece, his best album by far and one of the most completes albums of all the time. None track it's a waste 8)

IMO but controversy and Purple Rain were also killer.
My Fav songs:
"when dove cry" Dig if you will a picture? you I engaged in a kiss. The sweat your body covers me can you picture this.....

"Get Off" 23 position in a one nite stand get off....

"Controversy" Am I black or white am I str8 or gay controversy. Do you get high does your daddy cry....

IMO Purple Rain is over-rated.
 
Purple Rain is a classic, but for me that's probably more because of when it came out. It's a nostalgia thing.

Some killer tunes on there, though.

Prince went from underground to under everyones eyes with purple rain. It is like when you first hear a great song in a club. You can't wait to hear it again; but when you hear it on the radio every hour you hate it. IMO:spank:
 
It's not a problem of heard it too much, it's a personal opinion based on my tastes and my knowledge of his early carrer
Im talking about the album itself and compared to his other albums. Sign of the times is better by far, I also think Around the world in a day it's better even being a comercial disaster.
There's lots of people who consider Purple Rain a masterpiece and his main work. Comercially, maybe, but musically I think it's overated

perfect sense.

i agree to a certain extent sil and as we know musical taste is as subjective as it gets.

i prefer sign of the times but mainly due to the context in which i first listened to it and the memories it evokes.

purple rain i like but doesn't have the special place in my heart as other prince stuff.

purple rain the song tho is very very special and i love it!8) 8) 8)
