Exchange rate in Ibiza

Hi,

I'm just about to change my money up to Euro's ready to take on Holiday. A friend of mine has told me that I will get a far better exchange rate if I take English Pounds to Ibiza and then change the money to Euro's once we arrive?

Does anyone know where I can check what the exchange rates are in Ibiza so I can compare it to the rates over here?

Cheers....

If you do a google search, then you can find out what the upto date rate of exchange is for £'s into euro's ;), just ask google too find £'s - euro's conversion rate.

Have a good holiday

This time next week i should out on the town in a nice area of Ibiza

blindmanskunk=1GBP = 1.4803 euro's as at 21:20 UK time

thats the rate but you will not get that rate in ibiza...more like 140-143 max...

if you use a ATM you again will pay a charge for it

best to get a nationwide flex card thats free to use

or take a few euros to get you by then shop a round...

i mean you only talking 70p a time

but like me if i see it at 142 143 and know thats all i am going to get i can change up to £1000..i do find es cana is better or cala longa.i will then go to all the shops that do money and change it.....look in the gift shops like ART..they change money over....only ask for £200.00 max no more or they will only offer you £100.00

never go to a shop thats says best rate ie 146-148...you must read small print and then they will not have enough to change over your money,,,rip odd places..these shops are in town and in san an...

if your with NATWEST beware they charge twice on you card (gold card holders)..
i know its nice to use a card and safe but you cannot ask for discount?

even if its just 50 cents it all mounts up in the end to a beer

danessx where you staying at and when

I would use your debit card to get the best exchange rate. when i used my debit card. I was charged only 1% of each transaction that was in euro hitting my USD bank account.

Cheers for the info people...

To be honest I thought pretty much the same as you lot, I think it makes more difference if you go somewhere like Thailand where the pound is valued far higher. I'm just gonna go and get £1000 changed up today I think.

We Fly out Tuesday 5th Sep and are staying at Pikes....

£10008O 8O Becareful you don't lose it? As earlier on this year my family & i were staying at a hotel located in Los Christianos (Tenerife), & a young couple staying at the same hotel, lost over £1500:o  . Apparently they went for a night out, got themselves so drunk that they were both woken up in the street the following morning by the police, minus there holiday money, daft idiot's!!! The poor couple:lol: were so upset everyone in the hotel felt sorry for them, i did'nt & was very annoyed when i discovered that the missus had put 50 euro's in the kitty for them:evil:

They ended up having a better holiday than i did, & too make matter's worst they never once said thankyou, well not to me anyway:twisted:

It's alway's better to be safe than sorry

Have a great holiday

Dave

This time next week i'll be somewhere in Ibiza but don't know where:D

There's no way were gonna take all our cash out with us, we'll just take a bit and put the rest in the safe.. If I went out with a £1000 in my pocket i'd come back with eyes like golfballs and wouldn't be sleeping for about 4 days !! :-)
