Even As a Plastic I Can't Help But Laugh

Discussion got serious!?

Can we have a soundbite on this travesty from 'Jedward' or something to lower things please?

finishing second in your group in europe (to one of the best teams in the world) and then narrowly missing qualifying in a play off, is so much of an achievement than america or mexico or honduras having to finish top 3 in a group of 6, which contains as well trinidad, costa rica and el salvador......all nations that are an embarrassment when they've competed before at world cup finals levels.
While I've agreed that CONCACAF should probably lose one spot, what you've states is a mis-characterization of the process. It's a 2-stage system. First stage is 3 groups of 4, then one group of 6. And in terms of the region's better teams, you forgot Guatemala :p

i agree with olly really.

yeah sure, it'd be spiffing if 100% of the time fair play ruled and there wasn't a hint of controversy.

but then, i guess we wouldn't be sat here talking about sport would we. it'd just be boring.

Irish Football Association has now officially lodged a complaint against the result, siting that there is clear video evidence of a BLATANT intentional foul. Seems that they will have some grounds to have the matter officially addressed by FIFA.

It should make for some interesting press reporting, especially with the anti-Blatter group.

It doesn't seem to be on the internet anywhere so can I now lay claim to the original idea of a poorly constructed youtube video of Henry's misdemeanour set to that JLS parody 'Cheat Again'.
Cheers.
