OK - I'm in Marylebone...I need euros for Thursday.
Any idea where I can go in my lunch break to get commission free cash?

Ta!

(eek)

Is it better to get commission free cash with a poor exchange rate or use a cash machine out there with a better exchange rate but a silly charge tacked on? :?

Is the exchange rate poor? I've no idea...shall we sit and wait in here for a grown up to come and sort us out?

like scoobs said, the post office and m&s are good rates.

i (smug alert) opened a nationwide account so shall take money out comission/charge free from ATMs in ibiza

I think the exchange rate isn't great - that's why they can still make money on you changing your cash.

I don't particularly like the idea of taking a whole load of wonga out with me though :?

i alwayas use this place, normally good rates and deliver straight away (not sure if you dont have a/c might have to collect)

Debit cards just make sense! Furthermore, you can charge anything you might need in the airport on the way. Why exchange money now?

Money Markets at 12:25 today

£1 = 1.46195eur (£100 = 146eur)

If you're looking to spend a gazillion squid, or you're a bank, trade here :D

Random High Street prices

NatWest
£1 = 1.3905eur (£100 = 139eur) Commission free if you have Advantage Gold a/c
Post Office
£1 = 1.3927eur (£100 = 139eur) Commission free
Thomsons Travel
£1 = 1.406eur (£100 = 140eur) Commission free

So look for commission free at a better rate than 1.4eur to £1 and you're doing fine. It's not going to make a whole load of difference though, even on £500 the difference between the highest and lowest rates is still less than the price of one drink at Space...

If someone's just come back from Ibiza and used a debit card to buy Euros from an ATM, can they post the rate they got please :D.

sorry Travelex has gone down to 1.4151. There is one on Russel Square or Selfridges :) Good excuse to do some last minute shopping
